I was never told that my radiator had a leak but there was a hose that was leaking I clearly remember that. Yes I was told that the fluids were topped off that's fine that was not the issue. The day after this happen my husband called 4 certified transmission shops located all over the state of Wisconsin g and explained what had happened to my car. And regardless to the milage on my car they stated the way my car had overheated that, that will ruin a transmission. Since then we have spoke to a fifth transmission specialist and he also agrees that this will ruin a transmission. We will be further investigating the transmission and officially determining whether or not there is heat damaged withing the transmission. I don't not see what the purpose of having a couple of his buddies speak to us and back his denying responsibility for this. I am going to trust what the transmission specialists that we have contacted told us. There is a reason why we contacted transmission shops out of the area.

RE:
Case ID #[redacted]

On
April 21, 2015 we replaced the harmonic balancer and filled the oil and
anti-freeze on [redacted] 2004 Dodge Intrepid with 260,814 miles.  After fixing the vehicle it was dropped off
at the customer’s house along with the invoice which documented...

the work done.  Brittany was told about the fluids that
needed to be filled and about the leaky radiator.  She said she was aware of the problem.  The next day Brittany called and said the car
overheated on a 40 mile trip from Neillsville to Granton.  She stated the engine cooling fans were left unplugged.  I sent two employees to inspect and bring the
vehicle to the shop.  The husband also
called about the fans.  I cannot prove or
disprove that the cooling fans were left unplugged.

Due
to the upset customer I installed a new radiator, cap and refilled the cooling
system free of charge at 260,864 miles.
It was leaking between the tank and the core but was not cracked.

Three
weeks later the husband called me upset about the transmission being ruined due
to the car overheating.  I referred him
to Dave at Mid-Town Transmission in Eau Claire.
Dave told him that the 40 mile round trip without cooling fans would not
have ruined the transmission.  (On April
22, 2015 the temperature was a high of 42 degrees.  At that temperature, cooler air would already
be going through the radiator.)  Dave
also said it probably needs a new filter and transmission fluid.

The
husband called me back after speaking with [redacted] and was still insisting that I
ruined the transmission and should pay for the repairs.  I then said he should call Urbans Sales and
Service, which is a local Dodge dealer, to have them diagnose the problem.  Russ P[redacted], the Shop Foreman, went to
[redacted] house and inspected the vehicle.
After computer diagnostics were performed, Russ told [redacted] to change
the fluid and filter because there was a lack of transmission fluid flowing
through the transmission.  [redacted] told
him it wasn’t that way before I changed the radiator.

[redacted]
then called me to ask about changing the transmission fluid and filter.  I told her to take it to Urbans shop for the
maintenance.

I
never did any repair on the transmission only topped off the oil and
anti-freeze.  I do not feel I am
responsible for the transmission.

We will pay $1,000 for the damage.
