CROOK!!!!! SCAM ARTIST....BEWARE!!!!! I wish I could give him ZERO stars!
Derek *** is a crook! We paid him $1116 towards $1500 to cater our wedding and he has run off with our money! We were under strict guidelines from our venue on the documentation needed in order for *** to cater at their venue. We sent that information to the caterer MONTHS before it was due and he assured us that he'd catered there before (found out that wasn't true) and he did not apply for the licensing in time and we found out 3 weeks before our wedding that he couldn't cater at the venue because he dragged his feet. With that being said, we NEVER made a late payment but he told us initially that he would need TWO WEEKS to get us our money back. Our wedding date was on 8-15-2020 and we found this out on 07-20-2020. We were put in a position to hire and pay for another caterer 3 weeks before our wedding date WITHOUT a refund. *** IGNORED our calls and text messages BEFORE promising us he would have our refund back to us. We even saw him on Facebook BRAGGING about his catering business not missing a beat during the COVID-19 pandemic after he practically STOLE/embezzled our money. It's now 1 month later, 08-20-2020 and he has sent us $300. I don't think this caterer ever intended on catering our wedding. I'm glad we were forced to get someone else because I am almost certain he would have no showed to the wedding. We are now filing papers with the local courthouse to sue for our money back!
