Review: Purchased a small backpack ([redacted]) on 9/12/2013 for the purchase price of $85.00 + tax. Tried to return the backpack on 9/13/2013. The store manager and sales associate both refused to refund me. They stated that the backpack smelled of smoke and was used. The backpack had no such smell and the stuffing was still inside the backpack. Both the manager and sales associate were unwilling to speak any further about the refund and were uncooperative about the situation.Desired Settlement: Would like to receive a full refund of $85.00 plus tax.

We have received your letter concernig **. [redacted]’s complaint filed with your institution. **. [redacted] claims that we at the [redacted]’s Corner Lacoste Boutique refused his request to process a return.

As per our return policy, the item must be in saleable condition which this item was not. The item was in fact brought back the following day, however, the original tags were missing. Additionally, on the day of purchase the customer placed his belongings in the bag and left the store wearing the backpack. Therefore, we were unable to process a return for the item as this item was visibly used.

As per our return policy we will be unable to process a return for this item as it is not in saleable condition.
