Lad & Lassie Precision Dog Grooming, Inc. Reviews (4)

I would like to start off by apologizing for your dissatisfaction of the result of your experience at Lad & Lassie Dog GroomingI have read *** ***'s complaint and I apologize for the miscommunication I don't recall ever hearing you wanted a "PUPPY cut", I'm sure I would
have questioned that on a CAT I'm sorry that the length wasn't exactly as you wantedIn ***'s complaint she mentions that the groomer sent me instructions on how to groom MadisonI did receive emails from ***, however I never once was in communication with the groomer prior to me. I am unaware of the cuts that *** is speaking of If Madison was injured in my care I would have immediately have taken her to the Vet As far as pricing, I am NEVER able to quote an exact price due to many circumstances that may occur including the condition of the pets hair, request of haircut and cooperation of pet When *** *** came in the morning of Grooming she explained that her cat had an injury to it's tail area and insisted I was extra carefulShe also explained that her Vet was unable to take Madison's temperature due to this injury because she was traumatized during a prior incident *** also brought an E-collar in for the cat to be used during grooming, she also made it a point to stress that the cats nails be done prior to grooming I questioned both the E-collar & cutting nails first In my years of Grooming these to things are a RED FLAGS She assured me that is was just the way Madison is used to being groomed.Upon ***s arrival for pishe immediately asked "how was Madison?" I responded by explaining that she was not cooperative at allI stood at the front of my store and showed her the scratches & blood on my hands and armsAt no point in our conversation did I yell or even raise my voice*** was in disbelief We spoke of reasons why Madison may have been so uncooperative Perhaps that she was only use to being Groomed by the same person for years, different place ,different smells Including when I mentioned the RED FLAGS! She apologized for Madison's behaviorUpon her departure we both chalked it up to New place New Groomer! I explained that I would no longer be able to groom MadisonAgain, never once did I yell or raise my voice. *** ***'s accusation of Animal abuse is not only insulting to me it's not true. *** *** came back into my store on WednesdayI was not in at the timeShe demanded her money back My Staff explained she unable to refund her money and she would need to speak with me *** responded to her explanation by taking out her phone and taking pictures of my help threatening to post them all over the "Social media"*** *** also stated " I will be sure that you do not make years of grooming, I will ruin your name and business in this town." I am truly sorry *** *** was unhappy with the length of the haircut, but Madison was groomed completely, nails were cut, ears were cleaned, hair was cut , hair brushed ,bathed and completely dry. I can not respond to the complaints she is talking about as for it has nothing to do with this, each circumstance is different I'm in business for years and realize I can't please everyoneHowever, I do try my best to satisfy my customers and make each pets experience pleasurable. I am sorry *** ***'s experience did not meet her expectationsWith that being said I I do not feel that a refund is an orderMadison was groomed properly and as promised

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here] I Went to great lengths to provide this groomer with precise details and instructions on how Madison was to be groomed I brought her to this groomer for a pre grooming consultation just right after Madison had been groomed by her Florida groomer so that she could see how Madison was to be groomed My Florida groomer sent written instructions and pictures to me in a text so that I could give them to this groomer As this groomer claims she doesn't have a cell phone she requested that I send them to her email address which I did Madison did have cuts when she came home This woman says she would have taken her to "the vet" if this was the caseIt is not her place to take Madison to any vet without my presence or permissionI find this as presumptuous as shaving Madison bald and not trimming her as requested. When I brought Madison in that morning I offered to go over the instructions from my I phone The response was "OH I have that already" I also explained that due to a previous surgery that Madison was vey sensitive around her tail and anus I can only imagine the terror and trauma Madison had as these areas were shaved bald If you sat down in a hairdressers chair and they started to shave your head you would say "Stop what are you doing" Animals have no voices Yes she scratched because she was being hurt cuts with a shaver had to be painful. It was not a threat about going to social mediaIt was a reality statement I did write a review on Yelp I am not the first one this has happened to as it turns outEight other people have the same story as mine with this groomer I wonder how many others have had this happen that didn't take the time to write a review.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]I
I feel I have made correct and truthful statements to the Revdex.com.  Coincidentally over the July [redacted] weekend a friend came over to my house that lives in the same neighborhood in Islip where this groomer is located. These were her words.  "I know of another person who took her dog there and the dog was not given the correct cut. They shaved her down to the skin. They are not known to groom very nicely and the staff does not really care what you want or think."
I feel there is a consistent pattern here of shaving pets down the their bare skin despite the owners wishes or instructions.  I have taken the time to write to the Revdex.com so that hopefully this will not happen to other pets.  I wish I had networked more before bringing my cat here to be groomed.   Sincerely, [redacted]

[redacted] did not ask for a “Puppy cut” on a cat. I would have questioned a “Puppy cut” on a CAT. If in fact she did ask for a puppy cut, I have listed two references one being from the Official AKC website, of what is expected when asking for a “puppy cut”.v  “The puppy cut generally refers to the grooming of all of a dog’s hair to one uniform length around the entire body of the dog. “v  “The puppy cut. Despite the name, a dog of any age can sport this style. It basically just means a shorter coat, clipped to all one length.”[redacted] also stated that Madison was shaved bald. Madison was shaved short NOT bald. The haircut that Madison received may not have been thelength that [redacted] expected as a client. Madison did get her nails clipped, ears cleaned, sanitary clip and a bath and brush as expected. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Besides the length of the hair [redacted] doesn’t seem to be dissatisfied with the actual grooming, besides the length of Madison's hair.I mentioned in my prior response I would have appropriately cared for Madison whether it was to take her to the veterinarian or told the client it was recommended and that I was aware of the cuts.  As a groomer it is my obligation whether the client agrees or not. [redacted] does say there were 5 cuts, was Madison brought to a veterinarian to be cared for? Lad & Lassie will gladly pay the veterinarian bill for the scratches, [redacted] claim were from grooming. Yes [redacted] did explain that due to prior surgery Madison was sensitive around the anus area. Madison was not cooperative before I went anywhere near her anus. As I explained to [redacted] and we both agreed that Madison was put in a different environment and that may be why she was uncooperative.[redacted] came into the store after Madison was groomed it was explained to her that she needed to speak to Georgeanna for a credit.  [redacted] did make a threat; she in fact took a picture of my employee (without her consent) and said she would post it on social media. As explained in my prior response I am aware that there are write ups on Yelp, however, as I explained each one is a different situation and I don’t feel this is an appropriate time to explain. I treated Miss. Delease with respect and courtesy. When explaining Madison was uncooperative, I was making [redacted] aware of the situation. Sincerely, [redacted]
