JuneThe client's complaints can be traced back to the week of June 22, During that week, our mowing crew was only able to work days due to heavy rainFor that reason, we were forced to carry over weekly mows from the previous weekThis was the first time our business was unable to complete our mowing work for the week, everThe week of June 29, we began with those lawns we were unable to mow the previous weekOf those the client was the only one to call to ask when her lawn would be mowedI informed her that we were working very hard to get caught up and the crew would be there shortlyThey pulled up to her address when I called themThe client accused our crew of running over her gutter downspoutWhile we cannot say we did run the downspout over, as no one has any direct evidence, I took the downspout and before replacing it called the client to ask if I could fix it or if I would have to replace itShe said it needed to be "functional." So I fixed it and placed it back as we found itWe performed our work this season the same as we did last season for herHer lawn was one of the nicer lawns in the neighborhood and generated new business for us with neighborsIn fact, I often took photos of our work and posted it to our facebook page for our customers and potential customers to seeShe complains of a lack of edgingThe last time we mowed the property for her, I personally edged all sidewalks and the driveway and was easily able to find the edge of the concreteBy definition, the lawn was edged, and quite well I might addThe client was not the only customer to prepay for our services but is the only one to file a complaint to the Revdex.com and also tarnish our reputation on facebook to thousands of potential clientsIt is not required that our clients prepayIt is an option for them to save money (10% actually)We did not mislead anyoneThere was a letter with all the options available to them and she chose that oneOn July 18, 2015, at the client's request we sent a letter of cancellation of service to her and included a check for $This amount is the difference between her prepayment and the cost of the services we provided, while also recovering the prepayment discount of 10%, as she did not wish to finish the season with usThe client has not deposited that check and has instead decided to file a small claim against our businessLadage's Luxurious Lawns is a reputable companyWe were voted State Journal Register Reader's Choice in and by our clientsI personally was recognized in by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce as a nominee for the Small Business Person of the YearOur business is our livelihood and we take it very seriously
