Lady Newmans Catering

Review: I hired this company to cater my engagement party. The contract was to accommodate food and service for 50 guests for $375. The contract included food, drinks and service. The contract was also to include water pitchers for the tables and cocktail cups. The menu was brunch items and was to include omelets, beef skewers, chicken, and a fruit salad. I paid a cash deposit in the amount of $50 at the signing of the agreement and paid the remaining monies in cash three days before the event per the caterers request for shopping. The caterer indicated she would provide electronic receipts and she did not.The event was a disaster. The caterer assured us she would arrive on time to make sure the food was prepared and ready to serve when scheduled. She indicated she would come at 11am. I suggested she come earlier but she was certain her arrival time would suffice. The event was from 1-4pm with food being served at 2:00pm. She arrived at 12:15pm and food was not ready until 2:45pm. Not only was she behind in serving food but there was not enough of the menu food items to accommodate everyone. Many of our guests did not get any food, me included. She blamed this on my guest taking too much food. It was buffet style and she did not indicate the guest should be served a certain amount. She assured me many times that she would purchase enough food.Lastly, the caterer assured us our food budget was more than enough to accommodate our proposed 50 guest. Only 43 people were present so she did not purchase enough food to accommodate our guest. The caterer did not fulfill her contractual obligation so I should be reimbursed a portion if not all of monies paid.Desired Settlement: My first settlement offer would be for a full refund but I am understanding that the caterer did provide some of the services per the contract agreement. In stating that my second settlement offer would be to be refunded $212.50.
