Revdex.com,
The actual estimate given was $642 plus parts, estimated at $90 - $275 depending on what they find.  The coupon offers the discount to military with ID and as retired military, I have an ID.  I had the ID out and ready to show the receptionist, but she never asked for it.  I have no issues with the quality of the work performed. When the business owner called to address this complaint, I believe he was showing a sincere desire to make this right.  He offered to refund the coupon value even though his intent with the coupon was only for active duty military.  I have decided to accept his statement that his intent was for active military only.  I will not be returning to his business for the refund.  If I ever need transmission work again, I will consider Lake City Transmission on an equal footing with any other transmission shop.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I was gone when the customer came in with the coupon. However I called the customer and he made no mention of the coupon when he said he would be in to get the car. I also told the customer the repair could be between $1100 and around $920 depending on what we found and the time it took to perform the repair. We performed the repair for much less than that as you can see. My receptionist also made no mention about the requirements we put forth to get this discount and neither does the customer. Military? Senior? Law Enforcement/Fire/EMS?

Review: The Lake City Transmission web site has a coupon that states "10 % Off Any Service With ID For students, seniors, military personnel and law enforcement." When the coupon was presented while paying for a repair SERVICE, the person at the desk said it would only apply to "Transmission Service". She offered to call the owner to verify this. I asked her to do this and she went into the back to call. She came back and said the owner would not honor the coupon on a repair.Desired Settlement: I think the business should honor the coupon from their web site. If they do not intend for it to apply to repairs, this should be made clear on the coupon and web site.
