Review: I took my Mazda Tribute for a transfer case replacement on 10/11/2013 invoice #53302. I received a call from there sales tech and they said that they looked over the whole vehicle. At that time they gave me a list of components that they felt should be replaced. I told them to do what ever they had to. Within the repairs that they included were the Rear rotors, pads and exhaust manifold. A few months went by and we heard a weird noise. I had another mechanic drive the car and he checked the emergency brakes that did not work. So he took the tire off and found that Lake Country AutoCare completely removed the emergency brakes and twist tied the cable together. When we were driving one of the twist ties broke which started the noise. We also noted that there were bolts missing from the exhaust manifold causing a exhaust leak.

When we went to confront Lake Country AutoCare they stated that 9 out of 10 vehicles come in without emergency brakes and that they did not remove them. They also stated that they release vehicles all the time without telling the consumer that they have no emergency brakes. However we have only taken this vehicle to the dealership were we purchased the vehicle and Lake Country. Our records show that the last time the dealership worked on the vehicle the emergency brakes worked. We asked about a inspection sheet for the system and they stated that they do not keep any such documents.

Along with this the paper work states that Tech #60 performed the work with no certification #.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a refund of the entire transaction $2,205.33. We do not trust them any further to work on our vehicles as this is a safety issue that I believe in having. We would like them to be audited for certifications and state regulations so this will not happen to anyone else. I really hate for a family to lose brakes and have no way of stopping this could be a huge determent to the family.

I am working on getting the emergency brakes replaced, however they damaged other parts of the system when they removed them.

The [redacted] have been customers of Lake Country Auto Care since May 2011. We have serviced two vehicles for them, a 2001 Toyota Corolla and the 2006 Mazda Tribute. We have in the past documented on the repair orders if there was a concern with their vehicle. Since first coming to Lake Country Auto Care this customer prefers to supply their own parts. As well as letting us know they do many of repairs themselves.

Lake Country Auto Care has always provided excellent care for my cars. I'm on my 3rd car with them providing regular maintenance. They do great work at a fair price. I have never been disappointed with their work.
