My uncle is a veterinarian and when I asked him to help me figure out the bill ( from Lake Dog & Cat) he pointed out that the charge for “panacur” is about 10x the amount that it should be. I was billed $82.75 for three days of panacur for my dog. If I didn’t have a vet in the family I may never have known I was being swindled. Is this price gouging? Or is this how they typically bill..? If so they are screwing a lot of pet owners over. I was also practically harassed on social media ( by the veterinarian at Lake Dog & Cat ) for posting why I wouldn’t recommend them. He openly discussed me needing a payment plan during a pandemic, and referred to me as someone who had never been to his clinic, when I’ve been there twice before with the same pet... Isn’t that retaliation? Not good business.
She states that her uncle is a veterinarian, if he is not currently practicing veterinary medicine, he has no idea what the drug in question costs at today's rate.
Therefore she cannot compare prices from years ago when *** was indeed more cost effective. Not to mention this particular drug must be dispensed on a per pound (of the pet) basis.
The going rate for this medicine is $1.00 a pound and we have a pharmacy dispensing fee of $12.75. Considering her pet is 70#'s the price is correct. Not gouging, not swindling anyone.
She has no argument on our fees. There will be no discount.
Secondly, *** stated that *** practically harassed her on social media. She started it by stating that she would not recommend us because *** was discussing his political views to another client that agrees with him. She was setting up her payment plan at the front desk, therefore she overheard him. He was not even speaking to her.
We do not routinely let people make payments therefore we did take into consideration that we are in a pandemic by letting her. I have since removed the conversation from our Facebook page but her negative score will remain.
Therefore her complaint has absolutely no grounds and as many of today's issues turned out to be both political and financial. Not retaliation! Not illegitimate!
