Review: We built a new home and had HPT Lake, Inc install the heating and air. The unit was installed in the attic for a more central location. When we started to use the AC for the first time, after about a week of using it off and on, we came home one night and there was water dripping down through a light fixture in the ceiling, the sheetrock tape was showing and bulging, ready to burst. We stopped using the AC and called them out the next day. They came out and looked at the system. He crawled around the unit and I followed him up there. He was on the other side of the unit where I could hear him messing with something but I could not see what he was doing, he claimed that "he couldn't understand where the water was coming from." He checked the condensation pipes and he could hear they were draining. He said to keep an eye on it and to have the sheetrock repaired and he would cover the cost. We got the sheetrock repaired and it was $400. When we told him the cost, he said it wasn't his problem and he blew us off. That alone was bad, but then yesterday we had our electrician here to hook up a fan and he had to crawl up in the attic to check why the fan was not getting any power. While up there, he noticed the smell of gas! He checked and found that the gas hose to the furnace was lose and not tightened and sealed properly. He fixed it but said we needed to contact these people and report it. I can only imagine what if we had tried to use the furnace? The gas had to have been leaking since June 26th. When I called him to discuss the issue, he said "well I am not perfect" and then he said "it wasn't his problem." The system was not tested properly and it was very shoddy workmanship at our expense.Desired Settlement: at the least, we want the $400 it cost to repair the sheetrock. I have no idea how much gas was wasted up there, we had the tank filled the end of March and it is at 60%, for two people, it's hard to believe we used that much gas in that amount of time. It makes me shutter to think my house could have blown up because of their shoddy workmanship. I want someone to come and test and make sure the system is installed correctly.
