Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because Lake Egypt Water should be responsible for up grading their equipment Not the customer There is a price for doing business, and the consumer should not have to pay for their equipment upgrades They know they have a commodity that people have to have, so they can treat their customers very poorly The upgrade is so they do not have to read the meters manually However, they did stop and read my meter manually during this time.Lake Egypt Water District is noted though out the community as having very poor customer service They create hardships for their customers VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICETrue I did not have service at the time of the upgrade, because the house was under renovation The upgrade was not made in 2014, so their figures for revenue are incorrect Sincerely, [redacted]

In response to the above dispute, this meter has been locked since November 1, 2014.In order to avoid paying the monthly premium bill of $26.00, the customer has to have the meter locked.  During a meter update, if the meter is locked, a new meter is not installed since it is not being...

used.  A new meter has a 10 year warranty.  If we install a new meter in a locked meter well and the meter is not being used, we are loosing our warranty for equipment that is not being used.The customer has not requested service since November 1, 2014.  This customer has not been charged approximately $832 in minimum billing.  Yes, customer who were not locked, were upgraded with a new meter and pay the required billing every month.The difference in the price quoted from $175 to $300 is because her meter is a 1 inch meter.  Most of our meters are 3/4" meter.  After determining she had a 1 inch meter, the cost was increased to $300.  Our 3/4" meters replacement cost are $175.00.Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions.
