Review: My husband is in a wheelchair, as we live in Florida, we traveled to NJ and needed a wheelchair in our Daughter's home while visiting. I called Lake Surgical, Denville, NJ and rented a wheelchair for approx. 3 weeks. As explained to me, the price is for monthly rental. I agreed to pay for the month ($60.00), even though we would not be there for that amount of time. I gave them the dates, July 16 thru August 6 and told them to pickup either on that day or August 7. They agreed verbally! We came back home thinking everything is ok. They never came even after our daughter called them to pickup.

After hearing this, I called and questioned why they never came. The owner, [redacted] told me I would have to pay for 10 weeks. I questioned this and stood firm explaining the agreement. I told him I would not pay for something that they were responsible for. He told me I was rude and he has been in business for 50 years. Today, Sunday there is a debit in my checking account for $66.00 without my permission. The orginal cost was $60.00 for a month, which was paid upon rental in July.Desired Settlement: I don't want any problems, as this is not very business savy especially for a business that supplies disability equipment. As policy we never iniate a pick up of any rental equipment, the customer should call us when they are done so we don't pick it up while in use. In this case that communication was obviously lost in translation, we had mailed out a bill for the next months rental on 8/8/13 yet that did not prompt this customer to call us to pick up the wheelchair until early September. To clear our good name I will reverse the $66.00 charges today for the extra 5 weeks this person kept the rental wheelchair.

Please fix our rating w/ the Revdex.com for we are a small business and losses like this do add up and we don't need bad word of mouth.
