Lakehouse Restaurant B&B Reviews (2)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Unfortunately, being historic doesn't solve the fact that when you call yourself the 'Cooperstown Baseball Hotel' people are going to think that you are officially connected to the Cooperstown Baseball HOF and it is misleading. It also does not solve the fact that the place was unacceptable to stay in and there was no offer to show me other rooms. It also doesn't solve the issue that with the speed limit between the HOF and the hotel, it is at least 30 minutes away and there is no lake near the hotel. I have found other complaints similar to mine on the internet. I wish I had seen them prior to me booking the reservation. I am still requesting my money back and for the Revdex.com to reduce the rating of this business.  Regards, Dr. [redacted]

Thanks for contacting us with [redacted]'s concern.  We have had multiple e-mails exchanges with her.  I will copy them for you.  I am also pasting exactly what we have on our VRBO website so that you can see that she was aware of the distance between us and...

Cooperstown. There is no misleading advertising.  Emphasis is mine.  The Cooperstown BaseBall Hotel , known in the glory days of Richfield Springs as the Terrace Hotel and Sulfur Bath Hotel, is the last standing hotel and bath house complex that marked the end of the most important era in the village's history . At the height of the Springs popularity, the village had numerous hotels and bath houses and was a popular summer destination. The Era of the Springs served such guests as inventor Thomas Edison, Governor and President Franklin Roosevelt, Cyrus McCormick of McCormick Harvester, Gen. George McCellan, writer Sarah Orne Jewitt, and Oscar Wilde and many others in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Now it will cater to baseball families providing lodging for large groups. We are conveniently located only three miles from Cooperstown Diamond Dreams, fifteen miles from Dreams Park and twenty five miles from Cooperstown All Star Village. This complex of buildings has a beautiful setting with expansive lawns and a 200 foot front porch on the main building for guests to mingle or entertain. A large fully equipped 30x40 foot kitchen that once served the spa guests is now available for teams to prepare their own meals. The large dining room is so massive many people could enjoy home cooked meals or a catered party. (VRBO E-Mail chain between us and [redacted] follows attached)
