So we hired this company to do a remodel job on our home, which included a basement addition (below a new dining room addition ), and we asked repeatedly if the basement room would stay dry as we had NEVER had water problems in our basement in the years we lived in the home Well, unfortunately, the first big rain we got right after the job was finished, the room took on water So, we clean it up, had the contractor back out for a review, to try to find out what went wrong, and his answer was basically that it was such a heavy rain that nothing could prevent the leakage; and basements always leak He suggests putting in an additional sump pit and sump pump, and suggests it is put in the closet of the new basement bedroom....just what you want, right A sump pump in your bedroom closet! We disagree....the rest of the basement didn't flood, just that room Something else had to be wrong The rest of the basement was dry No, he assured us, nothing was wrong

 I am rejecting this response because:Well, as previously stated, we had a plumber out to discuss a sumo pump, and he said he wouldn't do it because it would not fix the problem. Furthermore, why would "START" with that expense when we were told that wouldn't fix the problem. The plumber wouldn't even do the job because he didn't believe it would work. So, we had a contractor come out to FIX the problem which previously been explained.  The work we had done could have been done FOR NO EXPENSE by Lakeland Construction had Lakeland just done it right in the first place! It is unbelievable that Lakeland doesn't stand behind their work better. We paid Lakeland every penny they asked for and on time. We trusted that the work would be done properly and part of it clearly was not. And as a result, we've dealt with a lot of mess since then and finally now have been able to fix the problem by seeking outside help. LAKELAND made a mistake and simply refuses to accept that.  [redacted]
