Mr*** came into our Oak Creek store on 3/26/and
handed *** *** a quote he had received and said I want to order this. *** *** wrote up his order for the quoted
cover and the price on the quote. On 4/3/the cover was installed on Mr*** truckOn 4/6/Mr
*** once again came into the store and
picked up a cargo bar-keeper and some floor liners. On 5/26/Mr*** ordered vent visor which was
installed on 6/5/2015.Never during any of the previous visits did he mention that
he thought we ordered him the wrong cover. Over months later, Mr*** came into the store and
said we ordered him the wrong cover, we explained to him that we ordered the
cover that was listed on the quote. He
never mentioned that he wanted the Aluminum cover at the time he placed his
order or beforeHe only said he wanted a Retrax cover and a written quote was
provided for the cover that was orderedThe Retrax cover is a non-stocking
special order item. Because most of the
items we sell are either cus*** or special orders we state on both our Sales
order and Invoice “All sales are final and down payments are non-refundable”.If Mr*** would have returned shortly after the cover
was installed we could have exchanged the cover for the aluminum and charged
him the additional priceBut after months this is a used cover and can no
longer be returned to our supplier or the manufacturer.I’m not sure if Mr*** looked at different retailers
and saw the Aluminum Cover at a different store or if he saw it somewhere after
he purchased the cover from Lakeland, but Mr*** received the cover he
ordered.Sincerely,

May 17, Dear Mr***: Re: Revdex.com Complaint Case #*** On May 31, 2016, the customer put in an order with our *** store to purchase a custom built Lakeland Falcon truck capAt this time, he gave us a down payment to proceed with the production
of his custom truck capSince all of the items we sell are either custom or special orders, we clearly state on our Sales Order and on our sales counters that “Down Payments are non-refundable” A couple of days later, the customer called back in an attempt to cancel his order which at this time he was informed that his truck cap was already in production and as it is a custom product was already painted to his desired paint codeThe customer decided to continue with his purchase On June 8, 2016, the customer’s truck cap was installed which shows the fast turn around time of his custom made productSince a truck cap is an aftermarket accessory, we are not able to guarantee that it will be air/water tight just as the truck bed is not air/water tightWe do however work to keep exposure to the elements minimal On February 23, 2017, the customer came in due to a defective door part and we replaced his gas shocks under his warranty, which was at no cost to him In April of 2017, the customer called and spoke with Tom ***, our *** *** ***He stated that he called to explain his situation however did not ask for any resolutionWe are more than happy to have the customer come back to our store to review his truck to see if there are any adjustments that we would be able to makeHowever, some of the customer’s concerns are based on the standard truck cap industry components which used in the manufacturing process of all brands of truck caps not just Lakeland’s We would be happy to look at his doorPlease have the customer call Rick ***, *** ***, at ###-###-#### ext*** to set up an appointment Sincerely, *** *** *** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and I will call [redacted] with regards to the leaking truck cap I purchased. Plus, I will also ask Mr. [redacted] if the said dome light could be wiredto my dashboard light switch so it could be operated when my dashboard light switch is in the au[redacted]atic or on position for which I keep my switch positioned generally. Please keep my case open until there is a resolution. I will notify youroffice when that happens.  Thanks very much for your assistance in this matter.

Dear [redacted]
[redacted]
When Mr. [redacted] ordered his truck cap and
tailgate liner he did not indicate that he wanted his dome light wired directly
to his battery, therefore when his truck cap was installed the standard method
of connecting his dome light was used. This standard method is used industry
wide when an aftermarket accessory is installed.  It allows the truck owner to use the light at
night when he would normally have his lights on and avoid leaving it on in
error and draining the batteries charge.
This method is preferred by most cus[redacted]ers.
Mr. [redacted] called and talked to [redacted] our
Corporate Sales Manager and expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the dome
light worked.  [redacted] explained to him that
his dome light was the standard installation, but that we have a direct wired
option available at an additional charge that we offer.  [redacted] immediately offered to upgrade him to
this option at no charge.  [redacted] scheduled
an appointment for that same day and Mr. [redacted] brought his truck in and our
service tech installed the dome light with the direct wire option.
After the upgraded wiring was completed Mr.
[redacted] still was not happy.  He did not
like how the wiring was ran to the battery.
To install the dome light to the battery so it
can be used independently of the lights on the vehicle we need to direct wire
it to the battery.  We use Auto fuse
holders, fuses and 14glx wiring.  The
wiring is zip tied to the underbody of the truck and up to the battery being
sure to secure the wires so they are not dangling excessively or touching the
engine.  In Mr. [redacted] case, when he
expressed his concern that the wires dangling we added more ties to alleviate
his concerns.
He still was unhappy and proceeded to insult
the Service Tech and use profane language in our store.  [redacted] explained that this was the way our
industry installs an aftermarket accessory to the truck.  We felt there was nothing more we could do to
satisfy the cus[redacted]er.
We sell 3000 truck caps a year the majority of
them prefer the standard dome light installation and are happy with it.  The cus[redacted]ers that prefer the direct wire
option are also happy with their choice and have not expressed concern about
the way it was installed or feel the wires are dangling excessively.
We were not made aware of any leaking problems
and have not been given the opportunity to correct it.
If Mr. [redacted] would call and make an
appointment we can address his leaking issue and look at the wiring one more
time, but I am confident the wiring is installed correctly.
Please have Mr. [redacted] call [redacted] at
9###-###-#### to set up an appointment.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I was looking for a cap to fit my "08 Ford Ranger. Went to the Oak Creek location after checking out other dealers in the area. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The price was hundreds of dollars less then the local competition, and the cap was made especially for my truck. The color matched perfect and was delivered in timely manner. I would rate my experience as excellent.

Review: I ordered an aluminum bed cover for my 2015 Silverado truck back on 4/3/2015, what I received was a Retrax retractable bed cover made with aluminum parts. When I realized it was the wrong bed cover I went back to Lakeland Sports Center they told me that It wasn't anything that they can do about it. I am very disappointed with the service received when I went back to the company. I am willing to pay the difference in price but the bed cover I have is not the one I want.Desired Settlement: I would like the bed cover I originally wanted an ordered. I also understand that It might be a difference in price that I am willing pay difference Only if I wasn't charged the first time.

Review: On July 13th I purchased a $1600 Renegade truck cap (their top of the line) for my 2007 Chevy Silverado truck.

Paid a $600 deposit via the telephone using my Visa debit card to manager [redacted].

Then on the 13th of july, when the said cap was installed, the remaining balance in cash.

When I got home I noticed the electrical wiring Lakeland did was questionable. The cap dome light would only

work if I turned my dashboard light switch off. I called Mr. [redacted] and he agreed to make an appointment for me to return and make changes to the electrical wiring. Afterwards, the said wiring was done very sloppy, the wiring was dangling under my truck hood, easily capable of being snagged on the moving hood, or other parts.

Certainly not $1600 quality work. Not only this, I discovered that the cap I just purchased leaked when it rains.

I'm very displeased with their product and feel cheated. Mr. [redacted] was a nice man prior to getting my order, but now he seemingly has a negative attitude towards me.

I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income. $1600 is a lot of money for me. If your office can see your way to assisting me in this matter, I would be very grateful and appreciative.

Most Respectfully,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I wish to have $1600 quality product and installation. The electric wiring done by a professional and not that comparable to that of a 14 year old's work.

Plus, the cap insulation done so the rear window, or any other place on the cap, so it does not leak when it rains.

Thank you
