Lakeridge BP

Review: Lake Ridge BP has failed to properly install a catalytic converter that does not make whining, whistling, or squealing sound when I accelerate. My car did not make this sound before Lake Ridge BP replaced my OEM catalytic converter. When I authorized the repair I requested an OEM part, but Lake Ridge BP persuaded me towards the aftermarket part from their supplier. None of the catalytic converters from their supplier have eliminated the whining, whistling, or squealing sound that started after my OEM catalytic converter was replaced. I have received a verbal from Volkswagon service that to eliminate the noise caused by the aftermarket catalytic converter installed by the Lake Ridge BP, I should have an OEM catalytic converter installed. The Lake Ridge BP has offered to install the OEM catalytic converter, but I do not consider this an option as the Lake Ridge BP mechanics seem to lack the proper training to diagnose the issue correctly and I no longer trust their work and fear for my safety if my car is not repaired properly due to incompetence or even worse, malice. The sound that my car now makes due to the repair performed by the Lake Ridge BP is completely unacceptable and embarrassing when driving, and they are responsible for the improper/ inferior repair performed. It is unacceptable for me to pay for parts and labor when my car was not repaired properly.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome is for Lake Ridge BP to allow me to return the parts used for the attempted repair of my catalytic converter for a full refund on both parts and labor paid for all related catalytic converter repair/ replacement work. The aforementioned desired outcome will allow me to have my car repaired properly at a Volkswagon dealership.

The response incorrectly states that I was provided an OEM

part. Lake Ridge BP did not provide me with OEM parts at anytime. Lake Ridge BP’s

supplier [redacted]. states on their website that they “distribute

superior quality products that are designed to perform, fit, and look exactly

like OE.” The aforementioned statement can be found at the following link: [redacted]

The options provided by Lake Ridge BP are insufficient and

are not in my best interest. Options 1 and 2 are not acceptable as they do not

provide a full refund, which will allow me to have my car repaired properly at a

Volkswagon dealership, which is the desired outcome. Option 3, if truly feasible,

should be executed by Lake Ridge BP, and is not acceptable if it requires me

engaging with the supplier.
