explain this to her on 3/27 and I left her a detailed message yesterday (4/12). As for the amount we billed the insurance company, that is based on the top payor and that fee has not changed in 10 years. We bill 345.00 for new patient comprehensive exam as some insurance allow that much, and some allow a lot less. We could have sent in a claim for 1000.00 or 175.00 and her insurance would have still allowed the 163.63 you see on the attached RA. She paid us a 25.00 copay when she came in so her remaining balance due is 138.63 which is all deductible. I contacted her Insurance company today and was assured they processed the claim correctly and she does indeed owe us the balance of 138.63. We charge 175.00 due at the time of visit for uninsured patients. For these patients we do not submit a claim, we do not bill the patient and the money is collect prior to the services.
