Lakeshore Taxi Reviews (1)

We were driving in the Tahoma, CA area and the driver of vehicle #[redacted], licence plate #[redacted] A, proceeded to pass us in a double yellow line (we had a motorcycle in front of us going the speed limit). To get back into the lane (going northbound) he had to cut me off and force me onto the shoulder and dirt. This happened just before 3:20pm on 3/14/2015. My wife called the number on the taxi and tried to explain what had just happened to the person who answered (I assume the dispatcher). He treated her as if she was stupid and did nothing but question her story. After she hung up he proceeded to call her back and tell her that he knew that there are passing lanes in that area (he must have had caller ID as no number was exchanged). We went to the [redacted] County Sheriffs office and happened to come across an on duty officer. After we explained what had happened she confirmed that there are no passing lanes anywhere near Tehoma due to limited visibility and safety.Desired SettlementAs a person that has been in transportation management for the last 15 years I feel that this driver needs to be spoken with at minimum. The dispatcher needs to be better trained to handle these types of situations and be receptive of these types of complaints. I also want no further phone calls from this company.Business Response As the owner of Lakeshore Taxi, LLC I am very interested and concerned about my drivers actions. I also know from daily experience that many people on the road get upset when they are passed. I personally have had people call the police about one of my drivers or me, only to have the caller get ticketed or arrested for erratic driving or DUI. As such, I must try to evaluate the complainant, and then speak with the driver, and try to figure out what most probably happened.I was dispatching on 3/14/15 when the complaint came in. The caller said my @#$%#$@$ driver in car [redacted] had just passed them in a no passing zone with a double yellow line. The caller made no mention of being run off the road, or even of being cut off. The caller stated she didn't think my driver should be driving like that, and she just thought I should know about it. I of course asked questions about the situation so I could better understand what they said happened. The caller became angry that I would question them. I could hear a male voice in the background cussing and yelling. I thanked the person for informing me of the incident and said I would talk to the driver. The caller then said if I didn't care about the episode, they would just report us to the Revdex.com.I talked to my driver a few seconds later. I have never had a complaint about this driver before, and know them to be safe and cautious. The driver explained that they had been following an SUV and a motorcycle for quite some time, and that the vehicles had been driving "tourist" like...meaning speeding up and slowing down for no reason, and generally impeding traffic. (Averaging 35 mph in a 55 mph zone). When it was safe and legal to do so, the driver attempted to pass. Unfortunately, the driver could only pass the first vehicle, and not the motorcycle. The area was a dotted line, combination passing/merge lane.I then called the complainant back. I told her who I was, and told her my driver had said the move had been legal. At this point the complainant began yelling and cussing and threatening me. Then the male in the vehicle took the phone and called me all kinds of names and threatened to kill me.I would think that the male complainant's 15 years of experience in transportation management would have taught him better management and communication skills. If the complainant felt so strongly about the situation, perhaps they should have called the police. Having contacted the Police, they still had the option of filing a complaint. Apparently they did not feel strongly enough about the situation. If a commercial vehicle forced me off the road, I would not hesitate to file a complaint with the police.Desired Resolution:I have no desire or intent to ever communicate with these people again.I will not respond to anything concerning this matter again. If the content of this response is shared with the complainant, I fully expect to receive harassing and/or threatening phone calls. If this occurs, I will have no choice but to file a Police report.
