I originally signed a contract with the company on 10/18/18. I had a leak at the time which they agreed to fix right away as part of the contract and they did. At that point I thought I had made a good choice. In the contract I was given a start up date of 15-16 weeks or however weather permitted. The job was started on 3/29/19. The day the job was finished 2 men came to the door to let me know they were done. When I asked how long they had worked for Kanga they told me they didn't work for them and that Kanga had sub contracted my roof to them. They also said they had not been present for the actual roofing. The dumpster they had remained in my driveway until 4/4/19 after I had gone to the office to ask why it was still there. A part of my contract was a new bathroom vent. This did not get done even though the part owner kept saying it would be. This was on 4/10/19. On 4/12/19 I was showing a friend the new roof and telling him about the bathroom vent. He is the one who told me that what I thought was the vent was a pipe which all houses had and that they has actually shingled over my vent. On 4/13/19 Tammy came out with 2 men to fix the bathroom vent which I am not sure is still done right. After multiple visits, calls and texts the final thing got done 8/12/19. I have full documentation including pictures and texts of the entire job. I really think other people should be aware. I would also like a Revdex.com recommendation for someone I could get to check out the job that was done. There are also other problems. I have repeatedly asked to meet with the salesman, part owner and the young man who kept insisting the job was done. I have more information that I can supply. On 8/14/19 I received a text from Tammy that I think speaks for itself. As far as her comment in text about paying for something that wasn't their fault it was 1 piece of siding. The other thing should have been a part of regular roofing job. According to their guarantees I do have some options. My contract was with Kanga Roof and I honestly feel they did not live up to their end.

was upset because she did not realize that occasionally we have to use a sub crew to help out when we are terribly busy. She had called fist because of that and then because the vent had not been installed. I personal went out with the crew to rectify the issue and found out they did not install the vent because the person that had done work on her bathroom had vented it out the soffit so there was no need for the roof vent. We installed the vent and reconnected as it should be to satisfy her concern. She had had a window replaced and it left an issue with some siding that needed to be replaced which was not our responsibility, but because of the issues with her not being told about a sub crew and the vent I told her we would take care of that at no cost to her. It did take some time to get out there, we are very busy as any reputable roofer should be. Her job was done properly by experienced roofers.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Regards, *** In response to the message from Kanga Roof: The part owner of Kanga Roof nor any one else from Kanga Roof told me that there would be a sub contractor doing my roof. I signed a contract with Kanga Roof and no one else. I did not know about it until the sub contractor told me after the roof was finished. The part owner expressed how unhappy she was that the sub contractor shared that information with me. I did not call but went right out to the office. In fact I went out several times to talk to her. She kept telling me her worker said it was all taken care of, I finally sent her a picture to show her it was not done. At no time was I told the vent had been hooked up wrong previously. Why would experienced roofers shingle over the top of a bathroom vent, that was a part of the contract, without talking to the home owner and the roofing owner? The window that was changed was done because Kanga's salesman said it was creating a problem with the roof, He gave me the name of a window contractor and I Had the window reduced and replaced so it would not create a problem with the new roof. Prior to the roof being done I asked if they would put up the 1 small piece of siding and that I would pay them for doing it. It only took about 15 minutes when they finally did it. My contract with Kanga Roof was signed on 10/12/18, roof was not started until 3/29/19 and everything was not finished until 8/12/19. I have kept documentation on all dates and issues. I have not had any contact from Kanga Roof since I contacted Revdex.com. I really would just like the name of a reputable roofer expert to check out the job that was done. I have some major doubts and after what they put in their response. I am even more concerned

In 2017, my wife and I closed on a home that, as a result of a leak we discovered around the chimney shortly after closing, required getting a new roof. After interviewing several contractors it was determined that we not only needed a new roof, but also we needed to rebuild two new chimneys from the roofline up. We contracted Lakeside Kangaroof to do the roof, to do the chimney and *** to do the insulation. Because this was a big project, with multiple contractors involved, Dale Sensenig, Lakeside's rep, who sold us the roof job, assured us that he would act as project coordinator for the three entities.

Unfortunately, Dale dropped the ball on coordinating between the three companies, which delayed our ability to get the *** and roof done immediately after the chimney was completed (the job was done in summer of 2018). It had to wait two weeks and we had house visiting family members put up at a hotel at our own expense, as a result of Dale's bungled communications between the contractors. We reconciled ourselves to the situation, and were willing to let that be (hopefully) a minor hiccup in this process. But it should have been a red flag. Shortly after the roof was completed, it leaked in the very same spot it did before we had everything (roof, chimney, insulation) redone! And so began months of arguing back and forth about where to place the blame. Lakeside wanted to blame *, saying that the chimney was not properly sealed (Lakeside even threatened to revoke our ten year warranty at one point). Lakeside sent one of their employees (or a sub-contractor), Andy, out three times to address the flashing and it continued to leak. Clearly, he was not qualified to address this task sufficiently. Since this was no longer a job that could be done before we encountered inclement weather, reluctantly, we agreed to let Lakeside wrap the chimney in r-Foil (their idea) for the winter and address the flashing again in the spring. The only thing the r-Foil did was prove Lakeside's theory wrong. It wasn't the chimney after all, the leaks persisted, even though the chimney was wrapped. I should also add that Andy left the flashing around the chimney (and under the rFoil) in a horrible state of disrepair after his third visit and never attempted to address step flashing - he basically kept trying to do the same thing each time, which was repeatedly ineffective.

I should also add, that our house had relatively new gutters when we bought it and leaks persisted to come down between the gutter and the roof (until recently - we hope). This was another issue that has been persistent since last summer that was only addressed recently. We needed to have drip lips (as per Dale) put in place, but all the employee (Jesse) did was bend part of the lip. He was in and out in 1/2 an hour. We haven't had a good rain yet to determine if what he did will work, but why did it take 11 months for them to address our gutters if this was such a seemingly simple task? I'm concerned that this has not been addressed adequately.

Anyway, when Jesse came out to do the gutters, we had him remove the rFoil from around the chimney because it's been completely ineffective in stopping the leak and I was afraid it might be damaging the chimney. Well, after the rFoil was removed, it revealed a carpenter ant issue. We had previously discussed with Lakeside about having another contractor do the flashing around the chimney and they agreed to indemnify us for that "proposed" expense. I say "proposed" because we got that estimate before the discovery of the ants and there's no telling at the moment what kind of damage has been caused to wood and insulation around the chimney where they are clearly nesting. We have an exterminator coming tomorrow, Thursday 6/6/19 to determine the extent of the issue. I am writing to you today because I am very concerned that Lakeside Kangaroof did not do a good job on our roof and they have refused to cover the damage potentially incurred by the carpenter ants (including the extermination expense), saying it is an "act of nature" and that they have already "gone above and beyond" and that they have "dedicated numerous man hours." They should! We purchased a ten-year warranty! It seems like the warranty purchase is worthless based on their attitude. This carpenter ant issue is a direct result of their neglect over the winter and refusal to respond to my repeated inquires for help with the issue (I have all my e-mails correspondence saved, to and from, mostly to - no responses).

I have video from other experts demonstrating how the step flashing around both chimneys is all wrong. There are exposed nail heads in many shingles (which we shouldn't have) and vents were not replaced to code (height-wise). They also damaged one of our bathroom fans (it sounds like something fell into the vent), but have said little, if nothing in response to that issue. As a result of these failings, we have little confidence in the entire job at this point. We spent $20,000 on a simple two-plane roof to get the best roof we could possibly afford and now feel like it lacks the attention to detail we thought we were paying for. Nor are they offering to provide the service that our ten-year warranty supposedly guarantees. In no way, have I ever been rude or said anything offensive to any one at Lakeside, but my requests, that a job that we paid $20K for, be done satisfactorily, is repeatedly met with hostility and belligerence. We believe a full or partial refund is in order.

As to the complaint from ***, we have been out to his house numerous times and every time we go out and fix something it is another issue. We have been more than accommodating to him. He has even tried to blame us on stirring up ants on his roof and that we should pay for the exterminator. He has been unreasonable and blames our company for the smallest thing. We sent one of our best guys out there to try to make him happy to no avail. At this point there is nothing more we can do, we finished his roof in January 2018 and are just done trying to make someone happy that is impossible to make happy. Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
First, I would like to respond to Tammy's assertions:1. "...we have been out to his house numerous times and every time we go out and fix something it is another issue." This is patently false. We only had two issues after Lakeside "completed" work on our roof. The main issue being that the flashing around the chimney continued to leak. This is the event that caused us to hire a roofer in the first place, so we do not think it is unreasonable to expect that this would be resolved after paying $20,000. The only other issue was that they damaged our gutters. Our gutters were new and did not leak prior to the installation of the new roof. The salesman was informed of the gutter issue shortly after "completion" of the roof in the summer of 2018 and it took them almost an entire year to send someone back to address the issue. The salesman recommended aluminum drip slips. The employee they sent did not install drip slips, but decided (of his own volition?) to try bending parts of the drip edge to address the issue. Needless to say, we still have leaky gutters in some places. Sadly, the gutters also look pretty dinged up too. In all honesty, we were willing to overlook this if they could've fixed the flashing properly.2. "He has even tried to blame us on stirring up ants on his roof and that we should pay for the exterminator." I am not blaming them for stirring up ants on our roof. The fact is that the roof continued to leak after "completion" and they were responsive to our correspondence over the winter, even after repeated requests for help to address the issue. The result of that neglect is that carpenter ants nested in the moist wood around the leak. The carpenter ants nested in brand new wood rafters that Lakeside installed/replaced. Had they simply honored their own stated "100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee" in a timely fashion, I am certain that we would not have developed a carpenter ant issue. I am not trying to blame them for some unrelated issue. 3. "He has been unreasonable and blames our company for the smallest thing. We sent one of our best guys out there to try to make him happy to no avail. " I think that a $20,000 roof comes with the reasonable expectation that it should not leak. The roof continued to leak even after they sent their "best guy" out three times to re-flash the chimney. Unfortunately, their "best guy" did not have the skills to assess or correct the problem, which left us with a poorly flashed chimney throughout the winter. I am sorry that this is the case, because we really like everyone from the company, but I don't believe this a small thing. We ended up with the exact same problem we started with - a leaky roof. As I stated in my previous message, we paid what we thought was top dollar for the best roof the company offered. Now, we question all of the workmanship due to such inconsistencies. 4. "At this point there is nothing more we can do, we finished his roof in January 2018 and are just done trying to make someone happy that is impossible to make happy." Lakeside did not "finish" the job in January 2018. They agreed to indemnify us the cost of having another roofing company come over and do the flashing work, while maintaining the warranty on the rest of the roof through Lakeside/Kanga. At the time, we thought this was a fair settlement, however, the issue is not about happiness vs. unhappiness, but rather effectiveness and ineffectiveness and the quality of the workmanship. How do we know that the workmanship we got is worth what we paid? How do we know their employees have the skills to honor the 10-year "No-Blame-Game" guarantee we paid for? It took nearly a year for them to address the gutters and the employee didn't even do what we were told he was supposed to do. We see Lakeside's ads on TV that talk about skilled workmanship and 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Yes, they did reimburse us for the cost of having a skilled roofing company do the flashing, but we cannot recommend Lakeside to anyone because of our experience. Too bad. Nice people. But the "highly skilled technicians" promised in their guarantee is questionable.

Regards

I contracted with Lakeside roofing to install a metal roof and install gutters and a bathroom vent. They completed the first part of installing the metal roof. We selected a sandstone colored gutter system but when this was installed they failed to replace the lower (downspout) portion of the gutters leaving me with 2 color gutters, sandstone tops with white bottoms. In addition they failed to install my bathroom vent and also damaged my siding causing breaks in 2 separate areas of the siding. My contract called for new gutters and the bathroom vent to be installed.

On 3/26 I spoke to Gene M about the issues with them using the old downspouts and it not matching the newly installed gutter top portion. He then informed me that it would be an additional cost to complete the gutters. I argued that gutters are the whole thing not just a portion of the gutter. I could see if they were all white and it would match but they do not. the contract does not differentiate that the downspouts were not part of the gutter system. If he had just specified this in the contract I would have been ok with the additional cost.

0n 3/28 I spoke to another representative of the company- "sundi" who spoke with me and initially agreed that it was not specified in the contract as being a separate cost and she stated that they would come out install the bathroom vent, complete the gutter job and fix my siding. At that point I felt they would do the right thing an honor their contract. Sundi later contacted me on 4/4 to say that they were sticking to the original statement of not honoring the contract and that they would not be completing the gutter work. she did say that they would fix the broken siding but no mention of installing the bathroom vent.

I feel they are doing the bait and switch tactic. My job was a $10,700 job and they are trying to charge me an additional $875 to complete the gutters by claiming the downspouts are not part of the gutters.

I am attaching a copy of Mr W agreement, along with other back up documentation. We installed a new metal roof to completion on Mr *** home on March 8, 2019, agreement amount of $10,789.00. Mr *** gave a down payment of $1000.00. We were unable to install the bathroom vent kit at that time because neither Mr or Mrs *** were at home at the time of roof installation. In order for us to install the bathroom vent kit we needed access to the interior of the home. He was given notification of that. He was asked to let us know when a good time would be to come back, when they were home so that we could install it.By that time he was irate that he did not receive new downspouts with his new gutters. I told him that I would pull his agreement and files and would make the necessary adjustments that were needed to correct any issues and rectify them. After reading through his files, I had determined that downspouts were not part of his agreement, as seen in his attached documentation. I called Mr *** back and tried to explain that he was sold gutters only (as stated on his agreement). I then told Mr ***, that because of his misunderstanding, we would install new downspouts at our cost (our company would pay for the labor and so on, he would only pay for materials). He was extremely displeased with that and became very hostile. I have included several other agreements from different customers showing that verification of what products were sold on the agreements and what was installed.I also told Mr *** that we would fix his siding (which was broke prior to roof installation). We were doing this out of courtesy to ensure a happy and satisfied customer.Since this time, Mr *** has refused to pay for anything and asked that we not come back. He was going to get another contractor to complete his gutter system and was going to charge us for it.The agreement and paperwork will be given to our attorney's as he has been non-compliant. He is customer looking for free work done to his property.Again, we have given Mr *** the opportunity for us to replace his broken siding (which we did not have to) and install his bathroom vent kit as per his agreement. He is at this point, we feel, just looking for free downspouts and free siding. Those downspouts have a valued cost of $603.00 which is exactly the price Mr *** was given if we were to install new for him. There has been no communication with Mr *** since, because of his vulgar and obscene language to the office and our other members. Please feel free to reach me at the numbers below or by email.
