We were contracted to install Mr [redacted] floor and we did that and there are no problems with his tile floor After we came out and gave him his quote he removed the existing flooringWe are a flooring company and not a plumbing companyHe needs to contact a plumbing company to fix his problemWhen we looked at his floor the existing floor was still there we included nothing in our quote for plumbing repairsWe have told him this numerous times

[First, I don't refute the claim that the Flooring Gallery installed the floor nor that I removed the existing flooring prior to installation nor that they are a flooring companyI have not questioned the attestations that the Flooring Gallery made regarding those mattersYes the floor was installed, however, it was done in an incorrect manner that has resulted in unexpected additional expenses for me that should not and would not have resulted if the Flooring Gallery would have installed the tile correctlyThis whole matter would be a non-issue if they would acknowledge their error and pay for the necessary repairs that are now needed due to their poor installation practicesIt is common knowledge and practice by professionals and contractors that when installing tile you lay the tile in a manner that is no more than a 1/inch below the toilet flange not one inch as the flooring Gallery has done otherwise you can't seat your toilet properlyI am extremely disappointed with their lack of professionalism particularly on the customer service sideTheir website says that they "provide professionally trained installers" which doesn't coincide with my experience.
I'm not sure what the purpose of the company is in stating that they didn't include anything in their quote for plumbing repairsIs the Flooring Gallery acknowledging that they should have included plumbing repairs in their quote because it was going to be necessary after they installed the tile? I would like to request that the company send me their procedures on tile installation because I am fairly certain that the installer certainly didn't follow their own written procedures.
The bottom line is that the Flooring Gallery's improper installation of the tile has resulted in additional repairs that I should not have to burden the cost forWhen I hired what I believed to be professional tile installers I expected the job to be done correctly and it wasn't.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.It is not true that they offered to show me how to install the floor.   I did speak to [redacted] who told me that the product was "tricky".  He did not offer any assistance or demonstrations.  However the product IS DEFECTIVE as I have described before.  It failed to lock into place making the installation impossible.  I should not have to pay a restocking fee to return a defective product.  I would like to resolve this matter outside of court; so please make a reasonable offer of restitution.

Response: Mr [redacted] is upset about a re-stocking fee for material he returned. Mr. [redacted] ordered special order Core-tec flooring that he was going to install himself. After taking the material home he called into the store to say that he was having an issue putting the floor together. As a courtesy...

we offered to send out our Service Manager to show him the proper way to install the flooring but he refused the assistance. He later decided to bring the material back to the store and return it. We checked the material and found no problem with it and returned it to the manufacture to check the locking installation system. They also found no problem with it; if there had been any defect they would have refunded the full purchase price. The re-stocking fee is the charge for returning special order material to the manufacture. We are sorry that Mr [redacted] is disappointed but there was no defect and there is a charge to return the item to the manufacture. As an additional courtesy we would offer to apply the re-stocking fee as a store credit to purchase other material.
