Review: I purchased a fish burrito and rolled tacos at 9pm on 10/10/2013. The fish and tacos had a chemical and sour smell and taste. When I went to the cashier to explain my issue she refused to admit anything was wrong and refused to make a replacement or to return my money. I spoke to the owner ([redacted] the next day after 3 phone calls and he said basically the same thing. He said he might be able to send me some discount coupons and at no time did he or the cashier ever say they were sorry. I have been at this restaurant many times with no issues but after experiencing how they handle customer complaints I just want my money back and hope no one gets sick.

Customer and guest came in and ordered a grilled fish burrito and an Uptown (grilled fish taco and 2 rolled taco combo). After eating almost all the burrito, customer complains of a chemical taste. The other guest said that his food was fine and had finished his meal. Their fish was grilled side by side on the griddle. My cashier explained to customer that we do not use chemicals on the grill. Customer requests a replacement burrito to go. My cashier explains that she is not authorized to do that and tells customer that if he gives her his name and phone number, the owner will contact him. At this point the customer decides he wants a full refund, even for the meal his guest had consumed.

As a small business owner I do all I can to put out a quality product and ensure customer satisfaction. If a customer takes a bite of a burrito and finds something off, we will replace it or offer a refund. However, in a slow economy, defrauding an innkeeper is becoming more common. The customer ate 90% of his food and his guest ate all of his. To me this is a case of someone fishing for a free meal, and using the threat of a Revdex.com complaint to get one.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. First off, This responce letter was written by the owner who was not present at the time. Second my friend did NOT eat his meal and did complain to the cashier a woman and showed her he had spit out a large portion of his meal onto his plate. and third I had eaten less than half when I pulled out a piece of fish and ate it seperatly from all the hot sauce and cream sauce and realized that IT was the chemical taste. Having worked for and owning a restaurant I feel sorry for this owner. To accuse once loyal customers of trying to get a free meal is repulsive and sad at the same time. I am done dealing with this man and his business. I have received my money back from my credit card company and will not eat at this establishment again and will pass along my experience to anyone that will listen,ie Facebook, Yelp, Twitter.
