Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2015/08/18) */ This customers boots were looked at by our boot buyer as well as our Merchandise Manager, after photos of the boot were sent to them to confirm the managers thought that these boots were not defectiveAfter seeing the photos of the boot it was determined that these boots were NOT defective and that something had taken a chunk out of the soleThis is in no way a defect of the boot or the sole of the bootThe customers account is incorrect as we would never have told him they were defective and then not honour our defective policyIn fact there are a few things in his complaint that were not based on what was said or what had happenedThis customer has apparently damaged the sole of his boot and now would like a refundWe are not going to refund this customer for his damaged bootThis is not a manufacturers defect Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 10, 2015/08/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Perhaps the person I spoke with misspoke, however they did say that this was a defectWhether that's what was meant or not is beside the pointI cannot be blamed for the manager's misspeaking any more than I can be blamed for a sole that clearly does not live up to it's standards According to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, the green triangle symbolizing a grade protective toe and which is found on the boots I purchased, shall have puncture protection and should be used in any environment where sharp objects are presentWhile it is unreasonable to expect any sole to last forever, it is expected that a sole with this standard should not begin to degrade for quite sometime, let alone a single dayAs it does have the green triangle, it can only be assumed that this degradation after a single use is due to a manufacturer's defect [redacted]
