Lamore Lumber Post & Beam Buildings Reviews (1)

I have called Lamore Lumber more than three times to talk to the owner about a leaking roof that they installed and he does not respond to my calls.[redacted] built a barn for me less than 8 years ago and did poor quality work. I had a complaint soon after the barn was finished about a warped door and it was never settled. Now my roof is leaking and he will not return my calls.Desired SettlementI want him to replace my shingles on the barn roof as it is leaking and I have a barn full of hay that is going to be destroyed if the roof is not fixed.Business' Initial Response On July 2, 2013 between 7:30 and 8:00 AM, I, [redacted] stopped to check out complaints phoned in by [redacted] No leaks were found at this time but I requested that [redacted] give me a call when it is raining so that I can locate the area that is leaking.I did an inspection of the shingles and found nothing wrong with them.By the date of your notification, it looks as though [redacted] filed her complaint after I had stopped to check on this problem and she had agreed to contact me the next time it rains. To this date I have no heard anything more from here. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.[redacted]Consumer's Final Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I filed the complaint before he came to inspect the barn.I still do have the problem, however he told me to wait until it rains and he would come down to look at the roof. I'm not sure that is a good solution, however, I agreed to do that.I will let you know if there is a resolution in the future.Consumer Response I don't know how this going to be resolved. Mr. Lamore wanted me to call him when it was raining, I did that, now he wants me to call him when it is raining and leaking. That was at 2 a.m. this past week, I don't think that is going to work. When he was here he said that he had been having trouble with the roof vents like I have. Why doesn't he just change that and we can go from there. Thanks,[redacted]Business Response In regards to the notice that we received on September 9, in regards to [redacted]I had requested that she call me when the building is leaking so that I am able to see where the water is coming in, so that this issue can be resolved.Lamore LumberConsumer Response That is the original letter you received from Lamore Lumber. I have since called him about the leak after it rained and was told to call him when it was leaking and raining. All the storms since were at night and I was unable to check them at night and Mr. Lamore would certainly not come in the middle of the night. My suggestion is: Mr. Lamore told me that in the past he had trouble with that kind of ridge vent. I would like him to replace the ridge vent and then see if it leaks.[redacted]Business Response In response to the notice which I received on September 19th regarding the ridge vent. This would not be done unless this was found to be defective. I can not evaluate this until I find out where the leak is coming from and that is why I requested that [redacted] call me when the roof is LEAKING, not when it is raining. Also, the ridge vent would not be replaced unless it is found to be defective. Will wait to hear back from [redacted]. Thank you.Consumer Response In regard to claim #XXXXXX filed on July 2, 2013Nothing has come of this claim. I had to hire a new contractor to replace my roof. The new contractor stated that the roof was not installed according to MA code. The code requires a sub layer of tar paper and the roof shingles were stapled on, which is not enough to hold the shingles from tearing off.[redacted] XXXXX=Business Response I had asked that [redacted] contact me when the roof is leaking. I had not heard anything else from her until receiving this notification on the 20th (2 days ago). I stopped to check the roof on 3 different occasions to to see if it was leaking and it was not, the last time being in June of this year, just 2 months ago. Sincerely,[redacted]
