I had a ticket on LAN Airlines. I went to change my ticket return date but they would not permit me, delaying the change by 5 days.
Each day I called back trying to change the ticket and they would not change it. Each day they said they would "call me tomorrow" with a quote.
Each day the prices on their website went higher and higher, resulting in a significant increase in the price of the ticket.

Review: I was in Peru and for health reasons decided to come back to the USA. I called their customer service to change my flight and they said that would be fine they had a flight the change in flight would cost me 200$, but I would have to wait till a sale representative called me back to finalize. I said okay. When the lady calls me two hours later she says okay not a problem that flight is available however only superior seating is available. I said okay how much will that cost me? She said 800$. I said Okay sounds good. I later get on the plane and they sat me in the last row possible next to the toilets! I paid 800$ because the lady told me there were no more economy seats available the seat right next to me was as well available and across from me as well. I did not get what I paid for 800$ is extremely to high to pay for that seating.Desired Settlement: I would like a partial refund because I paid for superior seating and sat in the last row possible, and the representative being untruthful should be retrained or something.

Review: I flew Lan Airlines from Santiago Chile to JFK stopping in Lima. My flight was delayed about three hours in Chile making me lose my connecting Lan flight in Lima.

I arrived in Lima with my two underage children at 3 in the morning. I looked for a Lan representative to assist me but they had all gone home for the day. I was then told by a random airport representative that my flight from Lima to Jfk had already departed-I had lost my flight. I begged an airport representative to contact someone from Lan so that I could get on another flight. After waiting about two hours for a representative they tell me that the next flight is the next day at midnight. After arguing for about an hour I was booked on another airline to Miami for the morning 8 am flight. We arrived at the airport before 8 am for our flight and it was also delayed another 4 hours. At 1 we were able to take off to Miami. Once in Miami my luggage was returned with damages. I reached out to Lan but no one has taken the time to get back to me. I have also emailed them as recommended and still have no one to get back to me. In this case I am reaching out to the Revdex.com to update of my unresolved issue and broken luggage. Advise you to look at their Lan website on fb and see all the complaints that are written on their. This airline has the worse customer service and the worse customer resolution in history of airlines. Please assist me to get my luggage fixed.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for my round trip plane tickets which I paid 5,000 usd for. I want them to pay for my two luggages that they broke. An explanation as to why they take so long to get back to my concerns-why there is no one who will assist you in Lima..

Review: My finace and I booked tickets to Ecuador for our wedding both flying on LAN Airlines. We are traveling seperatley to Ecuador on 1/*/14 for my fiance and 1/*/14 for myself then we both had a return flight booked for 1/**/14. We booked our tickets seperatley I booked through a travel agency and my fiance booked directly with LAN. As a special treat to celebrate our wedding we called on 9/**/13 LAN to see if we could upgrade both of our return flights. When we called LAN representitive [redacted] informed us that our flight had been rescheduled neither of us had recieved any notification of this. After waiting on hold for over an hour just to be told that no one was available to assist us I was told that someone would contact me the next day 9/**/13 that never happened. I called them again on 9/**/13 and spoke to [redacted] again who this time told me she could waive the fee and reschedule my fiance back to her original flight but she could do nothing for me as I booked through a travel agency. When I finanly spoke to a supervisor [redacted] I was told the same thing. They changed my flight without noyifying me and all I wanted was to change it back to what I booked... We recieved a reference number #[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like LAN to honor the original date of my ticket and I would like them to upgrade my fiance and myself.

We are disappointed to learn from your letter of the inconveniences experience while trying to reschedule your flights. In regards to ticket purchased through a travel agency the airline does not have any control over it. For any change on your itinerary you should contact directly your agency, unfortunately the airline is not able to make any changes on tickets purchased through an agency.

When there are itinerary changes the airline communicates them directly through system to the agency. Is the responsibility of the agency to inform the passenger of such a change. In regards to the ticket purchased directly through us, the airline notify the passenger between 4 to six weeks in advance.

However we will like to help you in the resolution of this matter and in order to do so we will need both your ticket numbers.
