Review: I purchased this truck in April and it was cool out so it appeared the air worked. When May came and I turned the air on and it didn't work at all and there was no power to the unit, which I had looked at by a mechanic I called Mr. [redacted] at the dealership where he told me I had to bring it back in to Wisconsin or he would not pay anything to be fixed it was my fault. This was within the thirty days of having the vehicle I then told him I can't simply just not go to work and drive close to three hours one way you guaranteed it to work. I waited and took to another mechanic and was told the parts would be at least five hundred but could go to one thousand as the clutch was bad in the air conditioning compressor and the fuse box that powers the unit also has problems and depending on if that needs replaced one compressor is put in it could be one thousand without any labor cost. I then had my wife call him and he avoided her phone calls, got very rude on the phone to her saying well until it is brought in I am not doing anything dodge dealers don't know what they are talking about only my mechanics and that I do not have an open checkbook to pay for this. Well I dont either as this vehicle was sold to me stating that air was perfect and worked amazing. He then disconnected the phone on my wife as she said I feel the bill could be paid you sold it as working and he can't just leave work to run up there with no guarantee that you are going to fix the problem or even pay any of the repair cost. I then called and he said well that is your problem and I am not paying anything. I then said I would take the issue to a different level and he said fine you think your the first to sue me.Desired Settlement: I would like him to pay for the repair cost at a dealer down in Iowa since he sold the truck as working and now won't stand behind anything.

Response:

In response to the complaint. The truck was purchased on April 12, 2013, When the truck left the shop the air was working, it was checked before the delivery. Several weeks after the purchase [redacted] contacted me and said the air wasn’t working. According to the complaint filed it was May 17. I told him at that time I would be happy to take a look at it, and he should schedule a time to bring it in. He didn’t know when he would be able to bring it back, I told him to call and make an appointment at his convenience. I haven’t heard anything more about it until last this until last week. I assumed he had it taken care of already. No calls, emails or letters for almost 3 months. I was out of town when [redacted]s wife called and talked to my salesman [redacted] last Wednesday, he said she was very rude and demanding. He told her she needed to talk to me and I would be back in late Wednesday orThursday. [redacted] did tell her that she needed to be nicer on the phone or he wasn’t going to talk to her anymore. I did not ignore her calls and promptly called herThursday after Lunch when I got back into the office. She at this time explained that the truck needed $1000. worth of work to fix the A/C unit. I told her that we never had a chance to look at the truck and that if they wanted my help fixing it they would need to bring the truck in. She proceeded to tell me that they were not willing to bring the truck in. I told her we couldn’t help her until my mechanics looked at it. I never said anything about any other mechanics ability to fix it or that they didn’t know what they were talking about. Only that the ONLY way I would do anything was to have them bring it to me. She stated that it was too far to come, that they lived 3 hours away. I since map quested it, Hopkinton Iowa and Lancaster Wi. they are 73 miles apart which should take 1.5 hours, not 3 hours as she stated in the complaint. I would think that is a small drive to have the a/c fixed, since the truck is not under warranty by us. Although I told them I would help them out, IF they brought it to my shop. I also told her that I WASN’T going to just write them a check. If that was the case people would be calling me daily demanding checks in the mail to fix their vehicles. That’s how our warranty is written and states that all work to be performed in our shop. Also it is a powertrain warranty, which doesn’t cover A/C. Every person who has ever had a legitimate complaint about a vehicle has always brought the vehicle back to us.
