Maris was very professional and friendly during his visit for my system check up.

I always have great service from Lancaster Plumbing and Heating. Tom was professional, efficient, and personable. He took the time to answer my questions and explain my options. He definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

Eric explained everything and was very patient with me as I tried to understand the explanation of the electronic air cleaner. He was attentive to the details and waited while the part was delivered to him.

Maris serviced the boiler at our home in September, 2015 and discovered that the flame would not remain on. He concluded that there was insufficient gas pressure to operate the boiler. He recommended calling UGI to investigate. We did so, and a gas leak in the line outside the house was discovered. UGI replaced the line from the main to our home and moved the meter from the basement to the outside.
We are grateful that Maris correctly diagnosed the problem. His skill and knowledge led to the replacement of our gas line by UGI within days of his service visit. We have always been happy with the services and products offered by Lancaster Plumbing and Heating. We recommend LPH and Maris.

After realizing the bottom of our water heater was leaking, we called Lancaster Plumbing and Heating. Kevin arrived within an hour after placing the call. He was very professional, easy to work with, and informative about our replacement options. He understood our concern about cost, but we never felt pressured to make a decision. He even gave us pros and cons about using a chain store! We decided to have Lancaster Plumbing and Heating perform the work, and Kevin left immediately to bring our brand new water heater back to our home for installation. The entire process, from the initial phone call inquiring about service to the finished installation took about 3.5 hours. (Did I mention this all happened on a Friday afternoon?) My wife even commented on how "pretty" Kevin's work looked. Will absolutely be using Kevin and Lancaster Plumbing and Heating for future issues.

Review: I called Lancaster Plumbing and Heating to clear my sewer line of tree roots. The advertise a price of $99. The tech arrived on 4/4/20114 and attempted to clear the line using a snake. He tried twice and told me he needed to water jet my line at an additional cost of $620 for a total of $719.The tech water jetted the sewer line and still could not clear it. The tech told me I needed the line replaced at a cost of $7100.I contacted the City of Lancaster and was told that it is rare that a sewer line needs replaced due to tree roots. The City gave me the name and telephone number of another company. I called the recommended company, they came out on 4/5/2014. The City recommended company had my line completely cleared in less than an hour for a cost of $305.00I feel that Lancaster Plumbing and Heating bate and switched on my and was trying to get as much money from me as they could.Desired Settlement: I would like the $719 refunded to me for work that could not be performed. If not a full refund at least refund the $305 that I spent on the City recommended company that cleared the line properly.

I spoke with [redacted] on 4-15-14 and after discussing the situation we came to an agreeable resolution. In addition I will also speak with the city in response to their comments saying a sewer would not need replaced due to tree roots which is incorrect. When tree roots are in a sewer line that means a connection is broken allowing sewage in to the ground and also the roots to grow in the customers line and possibly in to the city mains. This would be a double standard since for those reasons and others when sewer lines are replaced or new sewer lines are installed inspections required by code require the plumber to conduct an air test on the line requiring it to hold pressure. This is conducted so that the inspector knows there is no infiltration or leaks on the line. We do apologize to [redacted] that our efforts did not open the line and that the technician's opinion with using the machine and jetter and also a video inspection that the next step would have been a permanent solution by replacing the line not allowing the roots to cause anymore problems by growing back in to the line. I hope we would have a chance to earn your trust and meet your service needs in the future.

I am rejecting this response because:I spoke to a representative from Lancaster Plumbing and heating on 4/15/14. The rep told me Lancaster Plumbing and Heating would reimburse me $305 to cover the cost of the second company coming out and clearing the sewer line after Lancaster Plumbing and Heating could not get the line clear. No reimbursement has been received. One correction to my original complaint is that Lancaster Area Sewer Authority, ###-###-####, was who recommended the second company to me, not the City of Lancaster. I apologize for the confusion.
