Review: I bought my vehicle new from this dealer. Their has been a recall for the Cam Shaft Position Sensor. Lancaster Toyota Mazda refuses to repair this problem. They say they are no longer a dealership for the Daewoo Lanos I purchased. They are telling me I need to rtake this car 2 1/2 hours away for the repair. Since I purchased this car from them Brand New, I feel they should perform this recall work.Desired Settlement: I feel they should replace the Cam Shaft Position Sensor since it was a recall from the Manufacturer, and since I bought the Vehicle Brand New from Their Dealership.

Response:

The Daewoo Company stopped producing cars for the US around 2002. We retained a warranty and parts relationship with Daewoo for about 8 years until 2010. We have terminated our relationship with Daewoo. The amount of Daewoo customer business that was left after 8 years did not justify the expense of maintaining the relationship. **. [redacted] may be our only Daewoo customer and she only services with us one time per year. As with any dealer who terminates with a manufacturer, we are no longer permitted to perform warranty or recall work. Our Technicians can make repairs and we will attempt to repair any vehicle, but we cannot submit payment request to Daewoo. The customer would have to pay in full for all service work.

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

I feel since I bought the car from Lancaster Toyota Mazda brand New, They should honor the cost of repairs on all recall work that needs to be performed on this vehicle. Especially since the salesman that sold me this vehicle had told me that Daewoo did not file for Bankruptcy. It is not my fault that this company is no longer in business. It's amazing that Toyota will perform repairs on this vehicle every year for Inspection, ( at my cost) but they won't repair a recall at their expense. Yet they expect me to drive 2 - 3 hours away to let me get this problem fixed. Just because I don't drive a big expensive car from them, they don't seem to be able to take care of this problem for me.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Again, we will perform repairs on the customer's vehicle at her expense. We are no longer an authorized Daewoo dealer and we cannot submit claims to Daewoo for payment. The customer has the option of taking the vehicle to an authorized Daewoo dealer or paying us for the repairs. Regardless of what she was told, Daewoo does not, nor has not sold new cars in the US since 2002. 8 years was a reasonable time for us to maintain authorization from Daewoo. It is not financially possible to retain dealership status for one unit in operation. I am sure it is of no concern to this customer, but we lost Thousands and Thousands of dollars as a result of Deawoo's default in the US.

We would be willing to offer an above market value to this customer to trade for a new or used Toyota product. We have been a franchised Toyota dealer for 40 years and Toyota corportation is a stable franchise partner. If the customer woudl be interested in a trade valuation on a new or used Toyota, she can call the dealership at ###-###-#### and ask for me.

There is nothing further I can offer this customer.

Regards,

Seems like I have no choice in this matter. Except that when it comes time to buy a new Vehicle, I will never buy one from Lancaster Toyota Mazda again. My Last few vehicles were bought from them, But NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Very Disappointed,

Review: Revdex.com September 1, [redacted] Pa [redacted]: Lancaster Toyota Mazda [redacted], Pa. [redacted] ###-###-#### www.lancastertoyota.comDear Sir or Madam,This letter is being written in complaint of my Toyota [redacted] I purchased in July of 2013 from Lancaster Toyota Mazda [redacted] in [redacted], Pa. I have had nothing but problems and headaches with this vehicle since the purchase. The vehicle has been in their service department shop for maintenance several times. In my complaint is documentation that has been reported to the Lancaster Toyota Mazda [redacted] Service Department. I have brought my vehicle back to the dealer for service and mentioned to customer service numerous times that there were transmission problems with the Toyota [redacted]. Knowing the problems I have had with my previous vehicle and the transmission problems, I am experiencing the same thing in this vehicle.A number of concerns I experienced and felt very much inconvenient to me were as stated on receipts from the company are listed below:*Rubber seal came off on the passenger side top windshield while driving I-83. Date of service: 7/08/2013*Hearing a knocking noise which seem to have been coming from the steering when making turns, braking and accelerating. The technician claimed the noise was coming from steering shaft into rack and pinion. I was advised it was normal noise. Date of service: 7/08/2013*A very loud clunking sound in transmission when the vehicle was in park and being put into reverse. The vehicle was taken back to the shop more than 2 times for this reason. It was stated to me that: Lock up clutch within transmission will create noise if incorrect transmission fluid is used. Technician replaced incorrect transmission fluid with world standard transmission fluid as what vehicle requires. Mechanical components require correct thickness fluid for optimal performance. Vehicle no longer making noise after multiple test drives. It will take time for fluid to work thoroughly through all tolerances. This sound still occurs after the service. Date of service: 10/09/2013*While driving down the road a sound like the vehicle is driving over rumble strips but the road is smooth. Which I was concerned it was related to the recall for rear suspension and or problems within the transmission. The company stated it had been from things rolling around in the back of vehicle trunk, I had everything secured in the vehicle. Date of service: 10/09/2013 & 10/15/2013*Radio was replaced due to electrical problems on. Date of service: 10/21/2013. *Key remote was replaced because it broke and I was not able to use the key at all. Date of service: 12/9/2013*Gas fuel sensor was detected to have gone out when I stated it was the oxygen sensor. I waited 6 weeks for the gas fuel sensor part to come in and have replaced. 1/17/2014.*After having the gas fuel sensor replaced all problems started over again. I taken the vehicle back for service and the oxygen sensor was detected a week later and that it was not a fuel sensor. Having all this happening it did not allow my 4 wheel drive to work while in the snow, all winter I did not have 4 wheel drive. Which 4 wheel drive was highly recommended a must have.Date of service: 2/15/2014 & 2/17/2014.*Again I return the vehicle back for service for the sound I was experiencing from going from park to reverse. Now it is being stated the vehicle has a slipping in the transmission. Need new transmission which was covered under my extended warranty I had purchased at the time of purchasing the vehicle. Date of service: 5/07/2014On May 12, 2014 the vehicle was returned to the service department to have a manufactured new transmission replaced. The service department stated the clucking noise I was experiencing from turning, braking and accelerating was coming from the brake pads. Therefore they applied lubricate to the front brake pad contact point to lessen the pad shift noise. My concern is that the brake pads should not make noise inside their holders. There should be no play like I am hearing the loud clunking noise. Since having the vehicle back and driving the Toyota [redacted] I continuously hear this same noise. I feel I was sold a car that has problems and believing it was a rent a car, which I would have never bought if I had known. I have bought other vehicles in the past and this is the worse experience I have ever experienced. I do appreciate the time and the service that was given on the vehicle although I am very disappointed and it has been a headache and finding it very difficult to continually taking the vehicle back to get service since the purchase of the vehicle through Lancaster Toyota Mazda [redacted] in July 2013. I understand this vehicle is a used car but this car has given me problems since the purchase. I use this vehicle for business and spending over $19,000.00 for a vehicle I should not have gone through all these problems. For I have had the vehicle back for service and reporting numerous times that the transmission was having problems and along with other things that were occurring. For my convenience I would like for my used car extended warranty that was purchased through the dealer at Lancaster Toyota Mazda [redacted], Pa. [redacted] to be honored through Toyota of York, York, Pa throughout my remaining time of the warranty or as you deem fit . I would also like compensated for the inconvenience of the problems as I bought a vehicle that has only been one problem after another.Thank you,[redacted]###-###-####Desired Settlement: See in letter

Response:

This vehicle was purchased with two warranties, one from our dealership and one the customer purchased. To clarify, this vehicle has not had maintenance completed at our shop. This vehicle was only brought to us for customer stated issues. We completeded the repairs under our warranty even though the customer has not had the routine maintenance performed here. This vehicle should have 3 oil changes with the current mileage, we did not have the opportunity to complete one. Our warranty requires the scheduled maintenance to be performed in our shop to keep the warranty. The customer did purchase an extended warranty which can be used at any shop or dealership. The warranty extended by our dealership is no longer valid due to no regular maintenance completed in our shop.
