I hired him in July to do landscaping work at a price of $After some work he asked more money I agreed to pay him $though our agreement was for fixed price .I gave him the total money but I had to go out of country .He never finished the work .He even used four bags of Mulch which I had it at home Upon my return ,when I asked him to complete the work ,he demanded more money,so I decided to not continue with him and finished the job myself. His wife claim to be a Notary Public and has a stamp .His work is terrible .He spilled gas all over my lawn and burned it.I trusted the people but they took advantage of my trust.Because of my trust I had told my wife to pay the total amount without me actually checking the final work

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:The information provided is not accurate We had the chambers installed in January On March (months later, not 4, as *** said) we reached back out to *** because the yard was still wet, and we asked him to come look at the problem We have this in an emailA month later, when we had not heard back from him, we reached out again, on April He replied on April and said "My Supplier did go out and look at it awhile back I've just been so busy that I completely forgot to call you." He did NOT come back out to assess the situation as he claims He sent his rep, and then forgot to follow up This is unacceptable that he is now claiming that he took care of thisWe also have this in an email. When we discussed putting in the Chambers, *** told us he would install a "cap" so we could look inside, and if it was getting full, we could pump out the water He did not follow through on this When I asked him why we didn't have the cap, he said he felt so confident that the chamber wouldn't fill up that we didn't need the cap. Since there is no cap, there is no way for him to determine that the chamber is "full" as he is claiming He has not been back on our property, and he can not see into the ground to make that claim. *** was aware all along that we have a spring, and he knew exactly how much water we were dealing with If he thinks the chambers are full, this is completely his own fault, because it was poorly planned and designed. Not to mention, this still does not address the fact that our yard is still wet ON THE OTHER SIDE, because the yard was not graded properly. We told *** he could send someone out for another opinion, but that it doesn't change anything, and we still want a refund so we can get started on the work to all of ***'s work with another vendor He promised that his contact would email us to set up a time on June It is now June 14, almost two weeks later, and we still have not heard anything. We are tired of dealing with this, and constantly having to follow up The bottom line is that we paid over $8,to get our yard dry and usable, and that has not happened We have a vendor with a plan to remedy everything that *** has done, but we need a refund before we can get started We need this resolved quickly We have been working with *** for a year now, and are quickly losing patience with all of this back and forth, and no resolution
Sincerely,

I understand the customers frustration in this matter and we are trying to work with the homeowners to come up with a solution to make them happyHere is the background on the situation and where we are at now: In late spring of I met with MrsScott to review her back yard drainage
issueShe said the yard had been soaking wet ever since they moved in year agoThe yard was full of water and stale smelly mud and long tall grass ( it resembled a marsh )In order to resolve her drainage issues I gave her a quote to re-grade the lawn, haul off all the nasty muck and mud, install an underground french drain system to divert the water and then seed and straw the property when done In September of we began the work - After digging out and hauling off the mud we re-graded the entire back and side lawn. We graded the back yard to the set calculations needed to allow proper water flow to avoid any standing water issues. To ensure a 100% accurate grade from side to side we used a bobcat equipped with a laser transit After grading we dug out for the french drain system. In order to catch Due to the conditions of lawn before we started we doubled the width of the french drain trench to collect as much water as possibleIn the french drain trench we installed the filter fabric, 4" perforated drain pipe and 1" Clean rock. We then folded the remaining filter fabric over top of the rock to completely seal the entire french drain system to keep any dirt from getting into the pipeThis is the standard installation method on any french drain no matter the sizeOnce we finished installing the french drain system we dug a trench along the side yard and installed the outlet pipe that allowed the water that was collected in the french drain to dump outThe only place to empty the french drain was at the front of the house in order to avoid dumping water in the neighbors yard who also experiences an abamount of water in their yard We finished the job by putting down grass seed and strawMonths later we received an email from the homeowners saying:> On Dec 4, 2015, at 3:PM, ***@yahoo.com wrote: Hi Lance, > You did a great job fixing our backyard not too long ago with a french drain and grading due to a natural springIt's under *** and *** *** and our address is *** *** *** *** *** ***. As you can see in the video the drain is working great and keeping the water out of our backyard. The video is of me tipping up the drain for hour just so you could see the huge amount of water coming outMy question is if there is anything you could think of to help divert the water off the sidewalk cause it collects in front of the neighbors house and i'm worried about when it gets cold and will freezeI know dumping the water into the street would be a liability issue I would think plus it could freeze in the street making it hazardousAny ideas on what you think we should do would be appreciatedThanks. I contacted the homeowner back and as there was no other place to run the drain and they did not want it draining out on the street any longer I recommended they install an Atlantis Raintank Modular Rainwater System. An Atlantis Chamber is similar to a milk crate that when combined with other chambers it creates an area that allows water to be stored underground and slowly lets the water seep back into the groundThey are used when you can not pipe the water anywhere else. Unfortunately there were not any other options as we could not legally tie into a storm sewer or the sewer lateral system from the homeowners house. I also consulted several other industry experts on this recommendation. As the Scott's were very good customers I offered to provide the labor for free if they were to cover the materials, which they agreed to In January of we installed the Atlantis Chambers and changed the redirected the French drain to dump into the chamber which fixed the water in the street issue months later I received an (email/call/text) from the homeowners saying that yard was once again soggy. In order to see what was going on I went back over to the home for an inspection and saw that they Atlantis Chamber was full of water which is not allowing the French Drain to drain anywhere causing the ground to be wet. The Atlantis Chamber being completely full was not as they are made specifically for this type of application. In order to further research the problem I contact the manufactures representative and several other experts in this area. Due to the abamount of water in the Chamber we can only conclude that there must be an underground spring on the site. Unfortunately there was no way to know this at the time it was installed. I contacted the homeowner back with the news and informed them at their only option would be to back to draining it out on the street as there is just no other place for the water to go and do it legally. I also mentioned to the homeowner that they are more than welcome to get a second opinion and I'd be willing to work with them on anything that they found out I understand the clients frustration and unfortunately there are just not many options for them. The french drain was installed properly and kept the yard dry, which the homeowner states in the email on Dec 4th 2015. Ultimately they just didn't end up liking the amount of water that was coming out of the drain at the street As I know the customer has concerns that maybe the drain was not installed properly I have offered to have an expert from the drain pipe manufacturer meet with homeowner to review the job and provide his opinion. I believe they are currently planning to meet and I am hoping that it resolves any concerns that the homeowner may have I know this is a long story, but please feel free to contact me with any follow up questions. I will also be in touch if they end up meeting.Thank you again,*** *** OwnerLance's lLandscaping, LLC
