The client original quote was for a total of $
This amount included: 1)Supply & Install new vented soffits & fascias 2)Cut
holes in existing plywood facias 3) Supply & install eavestroughs on the house & garage &GST
The original scope of this work would have taken day to complete the SoffitsAnd following day the eavestroughs would have been completed. The customer did visit the site on the 1st day, at the beginning of the day and advised us that as per a conversation\inspection with an insulator, that he advised you that he suspected that there was no air flow from the soffit to the atticWe advised that we will not be able to tell until the soffits are removed and the vents in the plywood soffits have been cutOnce we did this we advised, that between the top of the wall plate to the roof there was approximately 1"-1\4" of air spaceAs per the conversation with the client and the insulator he recommended minimum 3" from the wall plate to the roofThe client then requested for us to go ahead cut extra notches in the wall plate between the roof truss's.That was not in the original scope of work originally quoted and added a full day of work to the jobAnd the client did in fact order additional workonce the fascias were removed there was rotten wood discovered in a few different areasThere was separate areas of about feet wide areas with rotten wood and then another different spots with about feet of rotWe removed and replaced these areas with new plywoodprior to continuing our job of installing the fascia'sAs we would never cover this up without repairing. The job actually took days for the soffits and then on the 3rd day the eavestroughs were completeda few days later the owner also drove out to the site to do a final checkContrary to the client above saying she visited each dayAs she was not there at all the 2nd day.And left on the 1st day after only a piece of the soffit was removed to check the airspaceShe was not then wasn't seen againaccording to her she went when everything was completed on the 3rd daySo unfortunately she wasn't there to view any damage or to see how much extra work her additional request (to cut the notches in the wall plates) causedI do understand her frustration in the lack of communication prior to completing the extra work or when the rot had to be repaired to continue\complete the workWe do have photos documenting the rot and the work completed and have emailed this to the clientHopefully we can come to a happy resolution as soon a possibleAs once the job was completed the client didn't answer any phone calls or emails, this job was completed end of May and hasn't tried to contact us at all to discuss or resolve and no payment has been made to date
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/16) */
There was no communication from you what-so-ever on this jobFrom the day I spoke to you on the phone approving the cost on the quote, there was silence until I received the surprise bill, days after job completionYou did not inform me promptly of any changes
When I spoke to the installer (your father) and mentioned the insulation companies suggested 3" of clearance, he said nothing to me about the scope of the job changingHe should have called you right away and allowed us to have a conversation, if he had I would have never agreed to further charges to this job, or increasing the clearance to 3"In fact I have an email that I sent to you, prior to your quote being accepted, stating that the job costs were already getting "out of hand", as your quote was not the least expensive
*** This also applies to the rotten fascia boards being replacedNo phone call, no email, no pictures, no communicationI understand that if we had discussed the boards, (and just how much can a few boards cost?) that this portion of the job was required and there would have been an additional cost*** This $bill needs to be substantially reduced to a reasonable amount before I will pay you anything else for the job

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 12, 2015/08/06) */
Based on the last email from Lanco Roofing, stating that they will reverse the extra charges if I drop the Revdex.com complaint, I wish to do soI have agreed to terms and asked them for a receipt stating that my bill has been paid in fullI am hopeful that this will be the end of the disputeIf however they come back from their holidays and start this up again I will be in touch
Thank you for your help and consideration
Sincerely,
*** ***
