I am rejecting this response because: the company did not respond numerous times. They ignored my phone calls until I told them I was going to contact the Revdex.com. It is not my opinion that the tree was planted too deep, it is a fact, confirmed by another in the tree/landscaping profession. I also have a voice mail from the owner of Lanco Tree Company where he confirms the tree was indeed planted approximately four inches too deepWhich again, anyone in the business should know that when transplanting anything, you plant it ABOVE the new ground level. Considering the owner of the business admitted they did not transplant the tree correctly, I believe that should void their statement that they can't guarantee the tree would survive the move.
I trusted them to know what they were doing. They did not do the job correctly. I want my $back.
The offer to give me $for a new tree is not sufficient as a new seedling costs at least $60.00. Removing the dead tree is not sufficient because I can do that myself
I paid Lanco Tree Services $to relocate a tree. They did the job WRONG and therefore the tree didn't have a chance to survive. I don't want excuses from them. I want my $back and for them to own their mistake. It's that simple. Take responsibility for not doing the job right and refund my money.

As we have repeatedly replied to this customer via email and phone calls, and as she herself has acknowledged, our initial estimate to transplant this tree indicated that we cannot guarantee the survival of the tree if the customer wishes us to transplant it.  She did indeed sign this...

estimate which indicated to us that she understood that we could not guarantee it would survive.  We did offer to remove the dead tree from her property and offered her a $50 refund so that a new tree could be purchases. This would have covered the cost of a new tree. The remaining $175 that we charged to her was for our time for the transplant.  As far as the complaint that we planted it too deep, this is her opinion and although we may be able to possibly state it was an inch or two too deep in an effort to be understanding to her complaint, in our professional opinion, the depth at which the tree was planted certainly was not the cause of the tree dying.    Lanco Tree Services feel that we did our very best with this customer in 1)advising her not to transplant the tree and indicating that it may not be hardy enough to survive the transplant. 2)offered to remove the dead tree from the property 3)offered to give her a check to cover the cost of a new tree.
Please let us know if there is anything further that you should need from us in order to properly answer her complaints.
Thank you
