I am rejecting this response because:The price charged for the notarization was at least $for each document (not $10, as falsely claimed in business response)My mother brought the documents for notarization because I was away at the time, but she was never informed by [redacted] that notarization of my degrees would not be valid if my name is not on the notarized copy certificationsFurthermore, both the agency that required notarized documents and the other public notary informed me that my name had to be on the notarized copy certifications (NOT my mother's)As a result of [redacted] 's erroneous notarization, which was confirmed by another public notary in California, I had to do notarization of all diplomas again and pay twice for the same service, which would not have occurred had [redacted] informed my mother of the proper notarization procedures that other Californian public notaries subsequently told meWhen I had my degrees notarized properly by another document custodian, I had no problem submitting the copy certifications to the agency

This letter is in response to a complaint by Ms [redacted] ; case number [redacted] I have attached a PDF file giving a complete statement and evidence of the transaction that took place on August 8, I maintain my position that I did not perform an unauthorized notary signature and I certainly did not overcharge Mrs [redacted] for the notary signatures and I have provided evidence from my notary journal as well as my cash register journal for that dayI am hopeful that this information will be helpful to youSincerely, [redacted]

Complaint regarding notarization of documents dated August 8, for *** ***.First of all I am puzzled as to the timing of this complaint since it is over seventeen months since the documents were signed and notarizedIf the customer had a complaint or concern about this notarized work,
the appropriate action would have been to return to me for any position correctionThe customer gives no reason why she did not follow up with me.Second, I have a record of this notarization as being four documents that were notarizedI have never overcharged for notary work, and always abide by the state of California guidance of not exceeding a charge of $per document notarizedMy notary journal records that the four documents were Copy Certification by Document Custodian and were correctly charged a fee of $for each document amounting to $40.00, not $80.00.Third, the person who appeared before me was *** ***She is the person who was in possession of the documents being notarizedCopies of the originals are generally either brought in by the document custodian or we make copies of the documents that are being notarizedI have notarized many Copy Certifications by Document Custodian and have never had a problem or complaint as identified by this customerI have consulted the Secretary of State Notary Handbook and there is no stipulation regarding the document custodian as having to be the same person who is listed on or the subject of the document being notarizedMs*** had requested that have them notarizedMrs*** presented her California Drivers license as proof of her identification and as the document custodian whose signatures were to be notarizedShe filled out the Copy Certification form given to her and swore that the information contained in this document was trueIt is not the responsibility of the Notary Public to determine whether the information is actually true or correctThe responsibility of the Notary Public is to establish the signer's identification and to administer th oath as to the signers representation that the documents are true, correct and authenticI believe therefore that the information obtained by Anna *** from another notary public is probably erroneous. If the customer has any other information which is pertinent to this matter, I would be more than willing to review it.Sincerely,Land Park Business Services

This letter is in response to a complaint by Ms. [redacted];  case number [redacted]. I have attached a PDF file giving a complete statement and evidence of the transaction that took place on August 8, 2016. I maintain my position that I did not perform an unauthorized notary signature and I certainly did not overcharge Mrs. [redacted] for the notary signatures and I have provided evidence from my notary journal as well as my cash register journal for that day. I am hopeful that this information will be helpful to you. Sincerely, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:The price charged for the notarization was at least $17.50 for each document (not $10, as falsely claimed in business response). My mother brought the documents for notarization because I was away at the time, but she was never informed by [redacted] that notarization of my degrees would not be valid if my name is not on the notarized copy certifications. Furthermore, both the agency that required notarized documents and the other public notary informed me that my name had to be on the notarized copy certifications (NOT my mother's). As a result of [redacted]'s erroneous notarization, which was confirmed by another public notary in California, I had to do notarization of all 4 diplomas again and pay twice for the same service, which would not have occurred had [redacted] informed my mother of the proper notarization procedures that other Californian public notaries subsequently told me. When I had my degrees notarized properly by another document custodian, I had no problem submitting the copy certifications to the agency.

I am rejecting this response because: The notary to whom I went to renotarize my degrees (after the ones notarized by [redacted] were rejected) informed me that [redacted] should not have notarized my documents when my mother brought them to her, because my name (and not my mother's name) should be on the notarized copies for them to be acceptable. [redacted] chose to withhold this information and did not tell my mother that I myself should bring the documents for notarization. She just proceeded with notarization of my mother's identity on my documents and charged my mother for all four notarizations which were invalid, according to both the agency that required notarization and the other notary public who personally told me that only my name should be on the notarized copies of my degrees. If the notary public at the Slavic Assistance Center knew the basic information regarding the fact that the name on the notarized copy certifications should be mine and not my mother's, as a notary public [redacted] should have known that as well. Instead, she charged my mother for invalid notarization service and is now rejecting any responsibility for her actions. The notary public at the Slavic Assistance Center did not give me any legal advice but merely basic information regarding notary service for degree notarization, the information that [redacted] failed to provide to my mother and instead charged her for invalid notarization services. If the notary public at the Slavic Assistance Center knew that only I can bring my degrees for notarization, so should have known [redacted]
