Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: It appears that the dealer is implying that I tried to defraud the Sales department by attempting to trade in the vehicle knowing that the car needed an engine They are 100% wrong I only decided to entertain the TRAdeal only after their [redacted] , [redacted] suggested that my husband and I do that Instead of throwing accusations, they should investigate and evaluate the ethics and morals of their employees [redacted] repeatedly advised us that the trade would be ok and even went as far as saying "those sales people don't care about things like that They may not even start the car." So at that point, my husband and I thought it was common practice to trade in vehicles that may need repairs Additionally, I was told that the dealership does not use Used parts in making repairs Furthermore, I never declined any of the offers made I've provided my contact number in my original email and no one has called to discuss any repair options I've already purchased a used Long Block engine from an Insurance auction with 57,miles so if the dealership is willing to complete the repairs at no cost, I would accept that In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Dealership damages my vehicle while in there possession now are refusing to release the vehicle to me unless u sign something saying they are not to blame and are threatening to charge me storage

I have leased a Range rover two weeks ego, we have agreed on the MSRP price of $and I was charged
$104, The Finance guy lied to me said that this price includes all the fees but after I got home I look at the paper work and find out that I was charged $only for the car
I tried calling the dealership and emailed them but they don'r respond

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The dealership is taking the stance that they have done everything in their power to troubleshoot the issue, but they have not.  They would like me to believe that Land Rover engines breaking down is typical as they make the correlation to transmissions.  Research shows that Land Rover V8 engines do not typically break unless the user has damaged the engine by not performing scheduled oil maintenance, which the dealership records will show that THEY have regularly performed all scheduled oil changes on my car.  The dealer has recommended that I trade the car in for a newer car.  How can I possibly trade in a car without an engine?  I've tried that through their Jaguar dealership and they refused to close the deal.  I would have to provide them the price of the engine and labor as credit towards the deal.  This is an unreasonable expectation.car.

I have had a chance to look into the issues the client has brought to my attention. After making a review, this is what I have found. When the car initially came in for a noise , the vehicle was inspected in...

the shop and brief road testing( as NYC traffic sometimes can limit the type of road testing we can perform) the only noise that was seemingly apparent was the noise from the compressor. From past experiences it is not uncommon for that compressor to make a noise and operate normally. While it could be electively be replaced , the advisor knowing that it could operate effectively for a long time, made a judgment that the expense was not needed for that item and advised the client as such. When the vehicle returned briefly as the stated they still heard a noise while engaging in their driving habits, we were able to hear the noise under similar conditions and scheduled some time to look further into it. At that time we were able to dupl icate hearing the noise consistantly. With use of some technical equipment they determined that the noise was emanating from the lower portion of the inside of the engine. The only repair unfortunately is to replace the engine assembly. This noise is inside the motor where no visual items can be seen to determine the extent of the issue, to do so would require engine removal and disassembly ( a costly additional repair, which would have the same result of the engine to be replaced). In either circumstance, even if the noise was observable on the first visit the repair would have the same end result of the engine needing to be replaced(rebuilding has issues as to available parts and due to extensively higher labor charges, a similar end price to replacement). I am sorry that this is an unexpected repair on your vehicle and did note that it seemed that the client did service the vehicle regularly. It is disheartening that even with regular servicing an occasional repair of t his type does happen, as say on occasion a transmission might have a failure. If the client would endeavor to repair the vehicle and replace the engine we are willing to work withthe client to see if we have any options that could be more cost effective for them, another option would be to trade the vehicle and use the money for the repair towards a newer vehicle if possible.
Again I am sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this issue is causing. Unfortunately it is an issue that even if it were noted earlier, the end repair for the problem is the same.

Land Rover Manhattan has not offered any assistance with this matter.  They have my contact information and they have never reached out to me.  But of course they continue to contact me via email regarding service needs.  Yet another effort to get the consumers' money.  Land Rover Manahattan was negligent in servicing and diagnosing my vehicle and they have not provided any remedial actions. I hope no other consumer falls prey to their actions.

Review: I took my 2007 Range Rover (which had always been serviced at that dealership) to the service department to diagnose a noise I had been hearing from the car. The first time I took the car in on July [redacted], I was told by the [redacted] ([redacted]) that the technician alleged that the noise was normal for a 2007 car and the noise was coming from the AC Compressor. I was told not to change it because the AC Compressor could last at least another 100,000 miles. I was not satisfied with that diagnosis because this was not my first Range Rover and I had never heard that noise before from my other vehicles. I took the car back to the service department on 7/**/2014 for the same noise. At that time I was told that the Technician could and did not hear the noise and was advised to bring the car back that following Monday for another look. I took the car back for the 3rd time on 7/**/2014 as directed only to be told by the [redacted] that I needed a new engine (approximate cost - $16,000). I received no further explanation. To date, I have not been told what went wrog with the engine, especially after the car had always been serviced by Land Rover of Manhattan. Now I am stuck with a vehicle on which I am still making payments for with no engine and no explanation from the dealership. I find the service department's actions extremely unethical and suspicious. But for the dealership's negligence in servicing may car and the wrong diagnoses, my car would have been fine.Desired Settlement: It is only fair that the dealership make me whole by either repairing the engine or replacing it.
