I retained WAmes Construction, Inc(***) to renovate a gutted 1,square foot ranch house in Lompoc, CA Since the house had to be gutted, all major systems in the house had to be brought up to code At the point in time that ***took over from me, the house had been gutted, remediated for asbestos and had part of the electrical system reinstalled***picked up the project and finished it with very few issues and little drama I live in Jacksonville, FL, which made the renovation more involved At all times, Billy kept me in the loop as to how the project was progressing, sending texts, emails and photos as each milestone in the project was reached All of this, even though Billy had other active projects running at the same time***was easy to talk to and always had time to talk about aspects of the project Additionally, he was aware that my budget was limited by the fact that the house had started life as a 1960’s ranch He actively shopped around to find the best price for fixtures, etc His comment was, “I act as if I’m spending my own money.” Billy worked seamlessly with the City to shepherd the project through the inspections As a result, there were very few items to clear up at the final inspection, despite the City changing inspectors toward the end of the project***attention to detail and professionalism are also reflected by the subcontractors he uses If they didn’t do a good job (which was rare), he made them come back and complete the job to his satisfaction
In short, ***made a very nice house out of what was once a shell of a building His honor, professionalism and constant attention to detail are hard to find He made what could have been a difficult project something that was easier to deal with I wholeheartedly recommend Billy for your project, whether it is large or small
