To whom it may concern The Revdex.comIn regards to customer complaint ID # [redacted]Customer dropped car off at Landis Transmission 17 July 2014, with a no go condition. We pulled the transmission to check the condition of the clutch with the customer's permission. The clutch was...

defective as well as the flywheel. We installed a new clutch and flywheel and still had a no go condition, We removed the transmission again and found that the differential assembly was severely broken, Customer stated that he was drag racing the car at [redacted] Raceway as well as [redacted] County Raceway, [redacted] County Md. Parts were not available through [redacted] anymore. Customer authorized purchase of aftermarket differential assembly. While this was going on the car was sitting outside with windows up, through numerous very heavy rain storms. When customer was informed of water getting into vehicle, he stated that he knew that the trunk leaked water when raining; this may be where the water leaked in from.As per Company policy we do not release a customer's vehicle until all invoices are paid in full. Customer was told on numerous occasions of that fact.We did our best to dry out the interior of vehicle, with constant push from the customer that he needed his car back. When the customer did show up, customer did so without all of the funds, knowing of our policy up front. Then the customer was very upset with us for not releasing vehicle, until the invoices were fully paid. The customer was not very understanding of our full pay policy.Vehicle came to us with front bumper missing as well as both head light assemblies. Customer admitted he knew of the trunk leaking water, there will be no refund for water intrusion. The windows were upthe whole time it was here. We are also uninclined to warranty the transmission work knowing how it is being abused prior to coming to our shop.We make every effort to accommodate all our customers, within reason. Howeverthere is certainamount of responsibility that does fall on the customer in any given situation. We take all of that into account when an issue arises.Thank you for your interest in this matter,Tim W[redacted]President Landis Transmission INC.

Review: I took my car to Landis Transmission for a repair and I called on Monday August 11th to ask if my car was ready to be picked up. I was informed that it would be ready Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. They said they would give me a call when I should come. I did not hear back from them so I called again Tuesday August 12th in the afternoon and they informed me that the inside of my car flooded with about an inch and a half of water covering the entire floor during a heavy rain storm on Tuesday morning. I was shocked by this news because my car has never leaked during rain. They said they were vacuuming out the car and had fans running over it in the shop and they would let me know when I can pick it up. In the morning of Wednesday August 13th I called to ask if my car was ready and they said it was still drying out. I called later in the day and they said it will be done soon and will call me back in about a half hour. I did not receive a call so I called them back about 50 minutes later. They told me the car should be ready to pick up on Thursday morning and they will give me a call. On Thursday August 14th I did not receive a call from them so I went to their location in the afternoon. They told me I would need to come back at a later date to pay for the repairs and pick up my car because I did not have the funds available to pay for my repair bill in full. I went back on Friday August 15th with the appropriate funds and picked up my car. I asked if they could show me where the leak was coming from and they could not show me a definite area of the leak. I predicted that they left the windows down but they did not admit to doing that. They did not offer any type of compensation or discount for the water damage to my car or the extra days I was out of a car because of the damage. When I got my car home I inspected it inside and out. I removed the floor mats and there was still water flowing off of them when I held them up and more water was sitting on the floor underneath of them. I am upset with Landis Transmission not only because they have liked to me about the means of how water got in my car but also because they did not fully dry it out before giving it to me even after they kept telling me it wasn't ready yet because it wasn't dry. I took my car to a local car wash and used a pressure washer to check for leaks. I ran the pressure washer over every seam on my car and nothing leaked to the inside of my car. I find it very hard to believe that the car leaked from a seam on Tuesday and did not leak from anywhere on Friday. I am very dissatisfied with their service and how they handled the water damage to my car. I feel that have been lied to about how water got inside my car and it could cause future damage that I will have to pay for out of my own pockets. I would like to let others know that Landis Transmission has not been honest with me and that I do not recommend allowing them to work on your car.Desired Settlement: I used a pressure washer to locate any leaks in my car and I did not find any. Also, the man at the garage could not tell me where the water came in from but he said there must be a leak somewhere. there is no other damage to the interior of the car around windows or seams which indicates to me that the windows were left open in a rain storm while Landis Transmission was responsible for my car. I would like to be compensated for the water damage done to my car while in their possession because they are responsible for the damage they caused. I would like a refund for a portion of my repair bill and/or an agreement that they will pay for any future repairs that my car requires that is related to the water damage that they caused.
