Landmark Enterprises, Inc. Reviews (1)

The [redacted] originally contracted with Landmark Enterprises Inc. in February of 2016 to supply and install a set of kitchen cabinets and a butcher block counter on a time and materials basis in the home they were having built for them by Pioneer Post Frame Inc.
Pioneer experienced a number of...

scheduling setbacks related to the house going unheated during the drywall finishing phase of the project, so we did not start installing the cabinets until April 12th. At that time the humidity was abnormally high and remained well above normal throughout the period of time we worked in the [redacted]’s home. On multiple occasions leading up to and during our phase of the project we advised both the [redacted] and Pioneer on a few different methods for reducing the moisture level in the house that went unheeded.
By the time we started work on the [redacted] home, they had hired us to install the tile in the master bathroom, install the bathroom cabinets and changed the countertop from a maple butcherblock to a custom walnut countertop. The job was months behind schedule and we were told by the [redacted] that the bank had set a deadline of May 1st for the house to be complete despite the moist interior. We did the best we could under the conditions and the [redacted] were so impressed with our work and were under such tight deadlines, they asked us to hang all the interior doors in the house and trim the doors and baseboard.
The original plan before we had started the project was to hire a professional finisher to finish the countertop in place, but because of the scheduling setbacks and the deadline, the [redacted]’s agreed to have one of our employees who has finishing experience do the work to get it done in time. Our employee was given the responsibility for getting the correct finish for the counter and he didn’t get the correct finish.
It wasn’t until months later that Landmark realized the product that was used to finish the counter was not the correct product. By this time, Landmark had come back to do warranty work four times (free of charge) on the counter because the finish around the sink was failing. When Landmark realized that it had mistakenly put the wrong finish on the counters, we immediately offered to credit the [redacted]’s the full amount of the labor and materials for the countertop finishing, and sand the existing finish off free of charge. The [redacted]’s accepted the refund and our services in removing the existing finish, but declined to have us apply the correct finish because they felt we should do that work for free as well.
After crediting a total of $704.37 for our mistake and doing the work to protect the rest of the house from dust, sanding the incorrect finish off the counter to a point that it was ready to be refinished with no additional work necessary, and doing a thorough clean up, [redacted] told our employee that she was happy with the work before he left.
The remaining balance owed to Landmark is the balance of the last two invoices that were either not paid or not paid in full, pending an acceptable solution to the on-going countertop issue. Now that Landmark has completed the work asked of them by the [redacted]s, we would like to be paid. The balance remaining is for $1,757.89. This amount is for: setting and adjusting the kitchen sink at the time of the countertop installation, some of the countertop and backsplash materials (glue and wood), some interior trim labor, some project management, some kitchen cabinet installation labor, some kitchen cabinet materials, and some labor for hanging interior doors. The [redacted] have not been charged for any of the warranty work and have been credited for all the work associated with our mistake.
This communication from the [redacted] (relayed to us from the Revdex.com) comes as a surprise. Following the work to fix our mistake, the [redacted] have not responded to our messages or phone calls. We would still like to resolve this misunderstanding and be paid for the work Landmark did correctly, and in a workmanlike fashion. We would like to purpose that the [redacted] come to our office and meet with us to discuss the misunderstanding. If they would like an accounting of the outstanding balance owed, we are prepared and willing to provide a transparent review of all the charges and credits associated with our work to the [redacted] in its entirety.
