The customer purchased a used vehicle from another dealer in another state. He came into our dealership on 10/10/14with 71629 miles and he had a list of complaints such as navigation screen goes wavy ,radio would not play any sound while on, steering wheel creaking and groans while moving , driver’s...

seat making noise, there also was fluid leaking under left front of vehicle ,tire sensors were all corroded and he also had a warning light for the right speed sensor not reading. All of these concerns were addressed and the certified warranty paid for all of these repairs. The customer was not charged. While replacing the front ball joints and the right front axle the tech found that the lower control arm bushings were worn and needed replacing. These bushings are not covered under the Certified Preowned Warranty and the customer was given the option of paying for that repair while we had most of the vehicle apart. It would save on his cost of the labor. He was told if he did it that day it would cost approximately $500.00 + tax. The customer declined the repair, and was told that when he did come back to get the work done he would get $130 deducted from his bill at that time. The customer did not return to the dealership until 4 months later and after driving an additional 5342 miles. Before doing the repair our tech advised that when removing these bushing there was a possibility that additional hardware might be needed to be replaced and there was a chance that the control arms would also be damaged while cutting out the seized hardware. This total estimate was given to the customer saying worst case it could cost up to $2500. to do . The customer did not understand that this was not taken all the way apart before because he declined to do the work back in October. The work that the warranty company previously paid would have covered some of the labor. Since we were now taking everything apart again  he would be responsible for the total labor. At this point the customer asked to speak with the Service Manager and I explained the whole procedure to him and advised him that we had not taken anything apart yet and if he did not want us to do the work I would give him his vehicle back . He wanted the work done but only wanted to pay $500.00 . Once again I explained that the $500.00 was if we did the work back in October when the warranty company was paying most of the labor. He then understood and I offered to have the vehicle sit overnight soaking up all the hardware to possibly make the suspension come apart without having to cut all the shafts on the control arms. I also told the customer that I would do this and not charge him no more than $1300.00 total for the work. He agreed and thanked me for doing this, and also gave us permission to go ahead with the repair. The work was completed and the customer called to tell him that we were able to complete the repair and not have to replace the control arms. When the customers wife came in to pick up the vehicle , she once again had the service manager speak to her husband on the phone to go over the bill. He agreed again to the price I had given him and they paid the bill and thanked us again. The customer was given the agreed upon discounted price before any work was done and he also was given the option of taking his vehicle out without being charged but decided he wanted us to repair his vehicle. In regards to the customers previous vehicle and story of a tech being fired I have been with this dealership for over 5 years and know of no technician being fired because of what this customer claims. I am only addressing this current claim. The customer is trying to dispute this charge and looking for a  settlement of $1000.00 , The bill for the repair was discounted to $1299.94 + tax this was agreed before we did the repair. Please respond to confirm that you have received our response.

Review: My wife's truck was at landrover for warranty work . About a month previous to this truck was also there ,when I asked to have front end checked . At that visit technician said that front end was fine . Now back to that second visit . Now this is about a month later . They now find thousands of dollars of front end work . Some is covered by warranty, but there is a bushing issue which wasn't covered and it was an additional $500. At that time I said I didn't have funds available. I was told and still gave text message stating that , if I bring car back if a month or so they would honor that price with maybe an hour in overlapping labor . Needless to say they did repair with no extra parts but 2 bolts that broke and charged me $1500. This is not the first time this dealership has overcharged me or my family member . I had taken a different truck there 2 years ago with a known problem that I had asked them to fix which was around $600 . Was told by the technician is was another problem which cost me $3600. In the end truck was back a week later with same symptoms and it wound up being what I asked them to fix in first place . I fought back and forth with service manager at that time and he actually apologized for situation and told me that the technician who worked on my car at that time was fired for saying things on peoples trucks needed repairs when they didn't. They actually admitted it but couldn't refund my money cause work was done . They gave me a free oil change . This is unfair to costumers. We are at their mercy .Desired Settlement: I would like the fee that they told me repair would cost in november if I had work done that day. Not the $1000 extra they charged me 2 months later. There were only to extra bolts in final repair . I feel like I was penalized for not being able to repair truck on that first visit ( actually second ). I still have message from sales representative stating that I would be changed $370 for repair since I already paid $130 for diagnostic charge . Then get a final bill of over $1400. And remember the first tech that checked truck less than 4 months earlier said front end was fine . I even received a call from warranty company asking how truck was checked at [redacted] when I purchased truck less than 1 year earlier and truck was perfect except for one issue that was addressed and now there has been close to I believe they said $9,000 of work . Did I do anything and I assured them that all she does is drive it back and forth to school. I just want price I was told it would be .500
