I won't get into the practices of Wheel Blocker as others, including various xxxxx news outlets, have already done soThey're predatory and that's less a legal matter and more an ethics issue
What I would like to address is there pricing structure, or lack thereof
Backstory: I was booted behind xxxxx on 4/(https://www.xxxxxx/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!1m2!2m1!1scvs+xxxxx,+NC!3m1!1s0x00000000... the xxxxx drive-thru is on the back-side and even though it says parking is for "xxxxx" it's extremely easy to assume that you're parking correctly because the building has xxxxx signage (as if it's the building's name)Wheel Blocker knows that, which is why they have a booter stalking the lot, and applying boots/tickets for quick moneyI was gone for five minutes and came back to a boot and a "ticket"A guy crept up to me in a beater car with a crooked Wheel Blockers magnet on the side of his carHe rolled down his window and said can't park thereIt's going to be $cash or $cardHe also incorrectly spelled "illegally" twice on the ticketThink about thatThis guy has to write "illegally parked" on tickets all day long, and he still hasn't learned how to spell itTop down, it's just an amazing companyI refused to pay the random dude in an undershirt on the side of the road, so I had them tow the vehicle
Anyways backstory over
Pricing structure:
On the lot they stated $cash or $card
On my subsequent "ticket" they stated boot removal $
When I got to the tow company they stated $tow fee (the operator suggested that this was a standard rate for xxxxx for a towKeeping in mind I was towed roughly from the xxxxx to the tow yard) and if using a credit card an extra $25!
Prices are not stated anywhere and appear to be made up on the spotThey have you in a vulnerable position wherein you have no recourse to either challenge the amount they're requesting (he could've said the tow was $500, what's my recourse?) or have an idea of what pricing should be prior to the towing and bootingYou have to either entrust a semi-literate guy rolling around in a 'Corolla with your credit card information or you have to realize a higher fee and have your vehicle towed, wherein there is no associated pricing structure
I get that people come to the Revdex.com and fire off an angry submission after something like this, but that's not my intentionI just don't understand how anyone is allowed to operate without a set price structureIf you think about it, this isn't the standard anywherePrices are listedBut, when they have your vehicle and you're being victimized and you're vulnerable, pricing can be whatever they want it to beI would say something has to be done, but let's be honest, nothing will be doneThey know what they are and they live with it

When I parked in a spot that I thought was associated with xxxxx, I thought I was parking legally When I came back to my car after min, my car was booted The reason I am writing this review is because the person booting cars was parked not feet from me in an unmarked vehicle He watched me walk from my parking spot into the xxxxx and said nothing If I knew I was parked illegally, I wouldn't have parked there! Although I will admit now that I was not parked in the correct space, decent courtesy would have been to tell me and not to boot my car and force me to pay $100! I have absolutely not respect for this person He very easily could have notified me He claimed, "I walked to fast." The situation could have been easily avoided and I feel like I was baited

I was blocked at xxxxx because I went literally next door to pick up a package before going into the Bakery at xxxxx--a total of 5 minutes. I parked at xxxxx because I was going to patronize a business there. The rep from Wheel Blockers repeatedly pointed out the fee would only be $75.00 CASH vice $85.00 on credit card, and twice suggested I go across the street to the ATM--which I\'m not allowed to do if I park at xxxxx. This is a scam. I tried to contact xxxxx Management, but their contact us number is a loop to their ad agency. I will never return to xxxxx nor patronize any of the businesses there. I am also telling every client, friend, and family member to boycott xxxxx. I will be calling the City of xxxxx first thing tomorrow.
