Review: Got backyard landsapped and the concrete is discolored, has patches, uneven surface top, has cracks and grass is not levelled has big pits.

I got my back yard land scaped from Jesse( lic. # XXXXX), he came to advertise his land scape company on my door. So he estimated that he will do the concrete, grass, sprinklers, drains and plant (30 plants) in the back yard. So he said to pay him cash $5000, $3000 was to be paid in advance and $2000 after the work was done. He gave me a signed piece of paper with all the above details. And said there is warranty on the work.He started the work after getting cash $3000 in advance. When the work was done, I found that my back yard door was broken, the concrete surface was not leveled, the stones still show through the concrete and there were round and rough lines on it, it's patchy and the color throughout does not match, along the walls the surface was all messy and cement left mark on the wall at places, When Jesse would leave for the day he would not let us know to see the job done.So when he came to take his rest of the money I showed him all his work and told him to fix it. So he agreed to put a solution on the top and fix everything. He did fix the door but he still did not fix the concrete the way he told me, he scratched the surface at 1 or 2 places. Then he said he has 5 children at home and has nothing to eat and that I should pay him but since I have warranty on the work that he did, he told me that he will fix it. So I gave him the money in good faith.

Then we noticed that the grass that he put was not leveled and you can see all these big pits from far off. Same is with the concrete any one standing far can see that the work is all messy. The concrete now has two cracks running all along. We told him 3-4 times to come and fix it and though he tried to fix the grass which looks better but still not leveled properly. He just put some concrete solution on one of the concrete blocks outside which again looks patchy and messy. That's all he did and ran away without telling us what he had done and then he stopped picking our phone.Then I text messaged him to come and talk. If he cannot fix it then return at least $1500 so that we can get it fixed from someone else (since we have warranty). We have some messages exchanged so he denies to fix it and told me to send him the court papers. I have all the text messages and the pictures of the mess that he made in the back yard.The work that he has done is not the work done by a professional which he claimed he will do. And we expected a professional work done so we hired his services. All in all the work looks so cheap whereas the money we paid is a huge amount that one pays to get the professional work done. I want that this person should not cheat anyone else in future and also I want a part of the money that I paid him returned to me so that I can go ahead and get it fixed from someone else.

Desired Settlement: I definitely wanted Jesse to fix the mess he made but since he failed to do so, I would part of the money returned that I paid to get the work done so that I can get it fixed from some one else.

I can provide supporting Docs/proof:

1)Also as a proof I have the paper from Jesse the amount to be paid and what all was to be done and text messages that show that I paid him the full amount.

2) I also have the pictures of the concrete and grass that shows clearly what I stated in my complaint.

I received the complaint of the customer through mail and I am going to give you my position The job I performed was finished a agreed to The problems started because she didn't want to pay me the extra work I did for her besides the $5000 contract which was more concrete then we agreed to which was 10x10 and she asked for more We also planted more plants than agreed on the contract (30 plants) and she refused to pay that to me The other extra thing I did for her was put black bark and she didn't pay me that also She paid me 2000 but she owed me 1300 for the extra and 1 month yard maintenance I don't give guarantee for the cracks on concrete If she pays me all the extra work she can contract any company to fix the cement I will pay the company the amount it costs I will not give her money back because she didn't pay me the extra money she owed me I never put my family in this business so I don't know why she is saying that about my kids I have pictures of all the work I did

I accept the resolution partially.......I accept that I will hire the land scaping company and tell them to give me estimation to fix the concrete and the grass area (level the grass area) and respond back here to Revdex.com and I will also have the land scape company inform [redacted] via the phone about the amount they quote to fix everything. Not only the concrete but grass area needs to be fixed as well. Again the area of laid down concrete is much less than as I got 3 sides of my house only 2 feet where as [redacted] gave me estimate $5000 of all sides of the house where concrete has to be laid as 3 feet and not 2 feet. I rather told him to put 2 feet and not 3 feet so the concrete is actually less than what he is saying( 3feet concrete, 10X10 concrete under gazebo and 30 plants for $5000). I reduced 3 sides of the house from 3 feet concrete to 2 feet. For [redacted]'s information the contract that he gave me for the work done has been submitted to Revdex.com and it also has the same area of concrete as is laid in my house and not more which all was to be put in $5000. I am not talking about more or less work done. It does not matter how much work is done either, what matter is quality of work. And the work done looks cheap. I have called few land scaping companies and I will chose one of them to fix thr concrete and grass and have them contact [redacted]. Till then please let the complaint be open. Yours Truly...

My resolution to this complaint is that I will pay a company she hires to fix the concrete, but I will not give her the money directly. The company she hires can contact me to let me know the cost of fixing the concrete. Everything that I have said has been true. The concrete is much bigger then stated on the contract and Revdex.com can go check and see for themselves. They can also go check out all the extra work I did. This is my final resolution, I will pay a company to fix the concrete and they (the company) has to contact me. I will pay them the money not her. She wants the money to fix the concrete so I will pay the money to fix it to a company.
