*** *** had no contact with our business between May of and October of this year (months) when she came in
asking for a refund plus a bunch more moneyHer accusations of us misleading her, charging her for work not performed and "stealing" her parts are completely and we find it quite offensive. As far as her complaining about the work we actually did perform is also, we have highly trained technicians that take great pride in their work, when we delivered her tractors back to her all of them were operating correctly and had been ran tested before loading them on the trailer. If she had problems with any work we had performed she should have called us and we would have been eager to resolve any issues. Her expectation for having tractors that are over years old to be completely restored for a very little amount of money are unrealistic to say the least. We charged her for work that was done on her three tractors nothing more. We have a great reputation and depend on word of mouth advertisement, we have never had a complaint about any work we performed in years of being in business. Feel free to call or email me if you have any questionsThank You,

I am rejecting this response because:
This is in response to your letter of November 18, 2015 which I received yesterday November 23, 2015. In my first letter to Revdex.com I attached detailed descriptions of the problems and actions to resolve the issues before I mailed the letter to you. At this time I do not feel I can add any additional details to the problems that were not spelled out in my original submissions. 1.       Letter to Revdex.com dated October 7, 2015 2.       Leer to [redacted] @ [redacted] Lane Tractor requesting a refund of the money I spent for work not completely done, dated October 8, 2015 3.       Letter to Lane Tractor, no specific date, but written October 2015, begins “This detailed account of my experiences…” Yanmar 2200 Tractor, 6 pages 4.       Ford 3500 Tractor Problems detailed-3 pages 5.       Ford 3600 Tractor Problems detailes-4 Pages I am attaching a copy of my MEMETO TO THE FILE dated October 9, 2015. I did the professional thing and went out to talk face to face with [redacted], before filing with the Chamber of Commerce and Revdex.com. Point by response to the reply from [redacted] dated November 18, 2015 in your letter. A.      No contact for 17 months. If the original engine in the Yanmar new about 1974 lasted over 35 years, then I would expect a “new rebuilt engine” to the last the rest of my life time for the little I use a tractor. As explained in the year since I got the Yanmar back (returned May 2014, total failure July 2015) I used the tractor for only about 15 tractor hours. Since I had no confidence in the work done by Lane Tractor, I would not even consider going back there again. B.      Stealing Parts. I have no other word for it except theft. I sent the parts. They were not installed nor returned to me. At this point since I don’t own the tractors now, I simply want my money back for the parts. I still maintain, that [redacted] is responsible for his employees and  their actions. [redacted] claimed Jared stole the parts and [redacted] was not responsible for Jared’ actions.   C.      Competent mechanics-all working. Again my original detailed report explains the problems I had- 1. New engine lasted 15 hours, 2. New hose failed in 1 year use, 3. Battery hooked up reversed, 4- Radiator hoses not hooked up-again if they really has run the tractor for 4 hours beside the shop they would have caught the error immediately, 5. Tractor leaks- with the work done my the new mechanic I do not have any leaks on the Ford 3600 Tractor (only tractor I now own) so again failure to solve the leak issue, 6. The pages submitted detail all the other mechanical failures by Lane Tractor. If further information is needed, please contact me. Sincerely [redacted]

Review: Between December 10, 2013 and May 15, 2014, I paid Lane Tractor to make repairs on my 3 tractors. I supplied brakes and gauges. Only the brakes were installed on the Ford 360 Tractor, but done incorrectly. Lane Tractor did not return the brakes and gauges to me – nor did they install them on the tractors. To me they stole my parts. When I questioned [redacted] about them, he denied that Lane Tractor ever had the parts in their possession. Because I live in Tehama County, I try use local business so that I support so that I support them which is why I hired Lane Tractor in the first place.

Over the decades as finances allowed, my husband and I purchased better tractors for use on our 25 acres. After my husband died, I kept the tractors and used each one for a special function. I am not physically strong enough to move the implement into place so that I can hook it up to the 3 point. I can get 2 sides hooked up, but the physical strength to move the implement to make that third connection is beyond my physical strength. Consequently, I now “hire” my neighbor to help me make this third connection. I have to preplan my request for his help to be hooked up, I am without the ability to use the tractor until after his work day so he can help me make the adjustment. Because of the work that Lane Tractor did/didn’t do, I have had to scrap 2 of my tractors. I am now down to just one tractor which now requires me to change implements depending upon the task I need to perform. Each time this requires me to hire my neighbor to help me do so.

My husband and I owned, me now, a Ford 3500 Industrial Tractor with a front end loader and bucket and box scraper with ripper teeth. I use this tractor to haul gravel and to blade my gravel road. I had to scrap this tractor so I no longer have any tractor with a bucket or box scraper. Any work requiring a bucket and box scraper has to be hired done. Lane Tractor is responsible for my having to scrap this tractor. See details on the Ford 3500 Tractor.

The second tractor was a Yanmar 2200. I used this tractor to haul a trailer around the property to pick up items – generally down and dead wood. Lane Tractor supposedly rebuilt the engine on the Yanmar. Lane Tractor’s rebuilt engine lasted less then 15 hours. Please see the details on attached sheet. The mechanic I paid after Lane Tractor, said there was no eveidence that the engine was ever rebuilt etc. This was the tractor which I also attached a blade for some blading on the property. I did have to hire my neighbor to help make the attachment.

My last tractor is a Ford 3600. The work Lane Tractor did was not done correctly. They also missed major repair items. I have had to spend additional money to get my only tractor running. Please see detailed list of repairs done on this tractor. Now I have to hire my neighbor every time I need to change the implement. Before Lane Tractor’s work, this tractor had the disc kept on it. I used this tractor exclusively to disk the 25 acres. There were major safety issues that Lane Tractor caused which have now been repaired.Desired Settlement: Resolution of the above was to meet with [redacted] and ask him to refund my money since the work I paid Lane Tractor to do was not done correctly or at all. Morally, Lane Tractor, should also pay all my expenses to have another mechanic “fix” the damage done by Lane Tractor. The second resolution is for Lane Tractor to “give” me a brand new tractor with a front end loader/bucket and box scraper with ripper teeth to replace my Ford 3500 Tractor which they caused to be scraped.

I am filing this complaint as I don’t want another customer to be lied to, cheated, stolen from, and have incompetent mechanical work done which Lane Tractor refuses to stand behind. I have the feeling that since I am a woman, and do not have a lot of mechanical knowledge, I was taken advantage of by Lane Tractor as I was “just a dumb woman who would never know better.”

Sincerely,

Business
