[redacted] and her husband have been customers for quite a few years. [redacted] brought 3 vehicles to me a couple of weeks ago to get snow tires mounted and balanced. We dismounted, mounted and balanced a total of 10 tires for them on 3 separate vehicles.  They claim to have not been...

charged before when they got this done. However, they were charged last year as well as the year before. In fact, once, they falsely told me they just needed tires bolted on, (which is a free service as are tire rotations) and in fact they had tires mounted and dismounted. I found this out after they left, and was unable to collect my money from them. (However, I just let it go and didn't bother calling them about it)Now, they have had tire rotations done, and they were not charged on those occasions. In his letter he states that he had a "tire rotation/Mounting" done. These are two separate things. A rotation is a service that I offer free of charge, and I might add, that everybody else charges for. What they had done is know as a Dismount, Mount and Balance. We take the tire off of the rim, and install and balance a new tire on the rim. That service is 12.50 for each tire. If you call around, I actually do this cheaper than any other local store.  Moving on, I did 10 dismounts, 10 mounts, and 10 balances, which would total 125.00. I actually charged them 100.00, reflecting a discount of 25 dollars because I typically give discounts when someone has multiple vehiclesThe customer's husband called me later that day and told me he was overcharged, and it should have been 5 dollars per tire. I told him that it has never been 5 dollars a tire. I told him this was my tenth year working at this store, and when I started working here in 2005 the service was 10.00 per tire. He then told me that last year I charged him 50 dollars for all 3 cars, and he thought it was too much to pay back then.At this point, I told him that I am the cheapest shop around, and I reinforced this by telling him how much each of my competitors charge. He argued, and told me that [redacted] would have done 4 dismounts, mount and balances for 20 dollars. I then told him (again) that [redacted] charges around 18 dollars for a dismount, mount and balance. The gentleman then yelled into the phone and told me that [redacted] is 18 dollars for the whole car.I told him he was wrong, and quoting [redacted] was a moot point because they do not mount tires that were not purchased there. He rebuffed, saying that they do, and they do it for 18 dollars for the whole car. I told him "Then next time you just go to [redacted] and I hung up the phone. If you would like to check my statements, you can speak with [redacted] [redacted]I also feel the need to share a previous problem I had with this customer. This was back around 2009. He called and asked for pricing on 10-16.5 Skid Loader tires. I gave him the pricing of the tires at 89 dollars a tire. He then ordered them, and called back asking if I did field service, (going to his house and changing the tires at his garage) I told him I did, and then told him it was 60 dollars for the road call, plus 1 dollar per mile for distance. He agreed to this. I went to his house, did the work, and he refused to pay anything more than the 89 dollars per tire. he accused me of lying and threatened to call the Revdex.com back then as well. Regardless of whatever comes of this , this is my last straw with this customer. I do not normally condone of telling customers to not come back, but I will not be doing any more work for this customer until he goes somewhere else and pays the $15.00 to 18.00 per tire that everybody else charges. He has 3 vehicles that will all need the snow tires removed, and the least he will pay at another store will be 150.00 for 10 tires. Hopefully, he'll understand then. However, I would like to know what he meant by "Upon checking the job it was not properly done". He made no mention of this while we were on the phone. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call me a* [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]Thanks, and have a great day![redacted]
