We grinded and re-coated the steps on 9/4/

From: Robbin B*** Date: Tue, Jun 9, at 2:PMSubject: *** *** Complaint (***)To: ***Dear ***,Below is Andrew's response to the ComplaintPlease let me know that you received this.Mr***
did contact us about his mother's driveway to advise us that there were spalled areas in the apron I agreed I would look at it, which I did Originally, Mr*** reported that there were two areas that spalled, but later insisted it was more like areas. Upon my inspection, I saw 8- 'nickel' to 'dime' sized small areas that had spalled in the apron After my inspection, we had a discussion of what may have caused the spalling I advised Mr*** that ice melts used over the course of the last two years, due to extreme cold, freezing rains and snows, most likely caused the spalling I never blamed Mr***' mother! The reasoning was that the spalling was isolated to the apron of the driveway only (The apron is the area closest to the street) He claimed that it was our fault for various reasons. Now, weeks later, he insists all of the concrete is spalling. The concrete supplier inspected the apron and provided a professional report which was rebuked by Mr*** The fact that salt does lower the freezing point of water, attract moisture, and increase pressure of frozen water, did not interest Mr***. Reviewing Mr***'s complaint, we are dumbfounded by his developing story He reported to us that the area was only in the apron part of the driveway, and insisted that that was the area we needed to look at After we told him about the road salts, his complaint changed to indicate that all of the concrete is now damaged And of course, we wouldn't tell him a salt truck did that, but that wasn't his original claim. Regardless, it is completely feasible for someone to walk from their house to the mailbox, and back, and tread residual salt on the driveway, sidewalk and landing, and cause spalling But we haven't seen the rest of the driveway yet, because he didn't ask us to look it. In the last two winters we have had extreme cold weather combined with snowfall and freezing rain The local and State governments spread salt, rock and a host of other snow and ice melting chemicals on the neighborhood roads and highways It doesn't matter how much they spread, the fact is that salt and ice melts were spread. When Mr*** asked me how this could have been prevented otherwise, I informed him that sealing concrete helps, but needs to be done continuously This came up in a general discussion of prevention, not as a failure on his part. We agreed to send a team out to place a patch material on the spalled areas, and they were scheduled over a couple of weeks' time, but as I told Mr***, the concrete needs to be relatively dry without the presence of rain The month of May has been a soggy month compared to recent years So patching the concrete was not ideal last month and scheduled days were cancelled due to inclement weather However, it was done.In summary, the driveway is functional and useable Like anything else that is purchased new, it doesn't remain perfectly new foreverCars roofs, patio furniture, and so many items all begin to fade and get dings in themCan we take them back to replaced? Of course notConcrete, especially, is known to pit when it it coated with salt This isn't an new phenomenon Of all the pavements available, concrete holds up the best And MrBrook's mother driveway still looks amazing for what it has been throughThe fact is that the driveway is functional, useable, and safeIt's natural to start to discolor, stain and chip. I am rejecting this response because:
We are still awaiting the response to the questions sent to you both via email at Robbin's request and via the Revdex.com The simple fact is you have refused to answer our questions, refused to speak via telephone, you have made contradictory statements regarding the repairs, and you have made statements that indicate that either have a loose relationship with the truth or you have no idea what is going and do not care to know Regarding your alleged "smear campaign" - grow up Telling the truth about the way you handled this situation is not a smear campaign, it is being a responsible consumer You do know that is what the Revdex.com is for, right? The simple fact that you have repeatedly refused to answer our questions forces us to let other consumers know about our experiences dealing with Lanham Construction As my grandmother used to say, "As you sow, so shall you reap"I told Robbin we would give you until Friday, July to answer our questions After that, you can reap an unresolved complaint on Revdex.com and bad customer reviews

[redacted],I believe that emailing will be the best method of communication betweenthe two of us so that nothing is lost in translation, misquoted, or takenout of context.Past phone conversations have ended up with you calling me a 'liar' andputting words in my mouth in complaints to the Revdex.com(Revdex.com).Now I understand that you are threatening us with an attempted smearcampaign. We have offered to come out, at your convenience, to repair the concreteapron that we poured in 2013.  You are more than welcomed to 'supervise'the repairs to your liking.I can guarantee that the color of the patch will not match the existingconcrete, at first.  It will blend better with time.I do not know what more we can do!Please advise.  I await your response. Thanks,Andrew L[redacted]Lanham Construction Co., Inc.[redacted]Lanham, MD  20706P:  ###-###-####F:  ###-###-####
