On May 21, 2014, two of my technicians went to Mr***'s home as he requested to see what could be done to have a/c in an amedia room He had just purchased this home and he was not familiar with what had been done to get a/c into that room by whomever had built this addition
Upon arrival, my technicians were surprised by what they had found A duct had been added to the room, but not in a proper way The duct that Mr*** states " we hooked up to his downstairs a/c system," had already been hooked up and had fallen apart, leaking air into his attic We did not take air from the downstairs system, this had already been done by someone previouslyWe re-attached it so it would not leak air into his attic The duct had also been installed into his media room by simply cutting a round hole in the Sheetrock and attaching it to a dryer vent They had screwed the dryer vent to his Sheetrock wall We bought a proper register box and sidewall register vent and installed it properlyThe total on this work was $345.00.Mr*** states we did not install the register box properly, but it was screwed to a wall stud and the duct was secured to the register box with duct zip ties I have no knowledge of any removed insulation from an exterior wall It was installed by the people who built the media room addition, and they may have done the same type of job that was done with the ductwork originally When Mr*** called to inform me about what this other company could do, he told me they were coming out the next morning to do itPerhaps he should have told me that and then I would have had an opportunity to help him We performed our service by reconnecting his duct that had fallen apart and by installing the proper register box and grill in his media room.
I am refunding Mr*** half of the charges he paid since he is unhappy with our workI believe this is fairThe check of $is in the mail
