Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Matthews Auto's policy is that, if they break it taking it out or removing it, it's your fault, if they break the part installing it, it's their faultThey basically admitted they broke my part, as they stated it was noted that there was a crack in the part after they attempted to remove the ball jointWhen I picked the knuckle assemblies up and put them in my car the drivers side broke off in my handsIf I had brought it in like that the "trained techs" at Matthews would have spotted itTheir policy supports this scam, they never have to accept responsibilityFurther I'm unable to grease the new ball joint they pressed in on the passenger side, which again was admitted when Matthews stated that damage was noted to the top of the new ball jointWhen I work for someone and I damage or break something I immediately think about how I'm going to fix or replace it because that's the right thing

It has come to our attention that a complaint has been filed by [redacted] ('complainant") in reference to services rendered and.charges collected in our...

automotive repair facility. We understand the complaint as follows: That on the date March 13, 2015 the complainant brought to our facility two steering knuckles that he had removed from his vehicle. He contacted us and requested that we remove the lower ball joints from the knuckles and replace them with new parts that he supplied. This request was made to our facility after it was made known to us that the complainant had attempted removal of the ball joints himself with a rented-pressing tool. The technician at our facility that undertook that replacement noted that the lower ball joint of the first knuckle came out of the knuckle with little to no effort in use of the press. It is known to experienced technicians that these types of bail joints are installed with an "interference" or "press" fit, in which the parts that are installed in this fashion are purposely made to be difficult to remove. The lack of difficulty raised the technician's suspicions about the integrity of the knuckle. Upon inspection, a crack in the knuckle, around the portion that houses the lower ball joint, was found. It was then inferred by the technician that this damage existed before the knuckle was received by our facility. The ball joint in the second knuckle was removed with the typical level of difficulty involved in removal using special press tools. The new part was installed in the second knuckle, and no damage was suspected or found. Some normal witness marks associated with a pressing operation were noted on the new ball joint, but it was not seen to be "crushed" to the point In which it would not be able to take grease. When the complainant-arrived to pick up his steering knuckles, the damage to the first knuckle was disclosed to him by the technician who made the repair, with the witness of a second technician. The damage was explained to the complainant,- and little argument was made with the technician or our service facility concerning any question the complainant may have had with the origin of the damage. The complainant was charged only for the service of the second knuckle, which was fitted with a new ball joint, and had no known damage, in the sum of ten (10) dollars. No attempts were made by the technician, at that point or afterward, to sell the complainant a replacement steering knuckle from our parts or service facilities. Mathews Auto Center has served the Union County area since August of 1991. Our business is built on honesty, integrity and competency. All of our technicians are educated and hold ASE certification. Further, our facility invests in on-going training of our technicians to be sure that they are able to perform necessary service on vehicles with every new technology. We take great pride in the services we offer, and are very appreciative of our customers. Our town is a small town, and our customers are also our friends, neighbors and family members. Many of them are widows, seniors and single mothers whom we would be even more ashamed of treating wrongly. We, therefore, take an accusation of being scam artists with serious offense. Our community is not an ignorant community; and any such activity in a business like ours would have been seen through long before the day this complaint came to be. In addition, any business that truly is run by scam artists would not have wasted any Immoral effort on ten dollars, and they likely would have forced a replacement part on their victim as well.We realize that no human, or business, is perfect. We are the first to admit our faults and mistakes, and gladly make them right. We make every attempt to go the extra mile for our customers. We have given service for no charge when we felt a question about a previous repair may have been raised, even when the customer was prepared, and more than happy, to pay. It is our goal to fulfill every reasonable service expectation our customers have.
It is also our hope that our business is not taken advantage of, or our name unjustly tarnished by an unhappy patron.  The part that was brought to our facility by the complainant was just  as likely damaged by the complainant in his unsuccessful attempts at the repair before he brought it to us.  The complainant offered his version of proof that our technician damaged the part because of evidence that a press had been used, yet we were also made to understand that the complainant rented and used the same type of press in his repair attempt before he contacted us.  There is little likelihood that the part was damaged by our experienced and certified technician.
Mathews Auto Center is more than happy to offer reimbursement or additional services when a fault clearly lies with our facility or when the faithful patronage of a good customer is in question.  We will not offer compensation of any kind when a clear explanation of these events has been made to a customer, who , in turn, gives undue discredit to our business and reputation. Mathew's Auto Center has twenty-four years worth of faithful and happy customers who will attest to the opposite.  We welcome all new customers, and do all we can to ensure they are never given cause to file complaints of this nature.  It is with the deepest regret that we find it necessary to respond to one such complaint, and sincerely hope it to be the last time it will be so.
Sincerely,
Mathews Auto Center

Mathews clearly lies w not offer co customer, w has twenty-f welcome all this nature. I
