Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The product was returned within the thirty days I reported to them the product repair was not working properly within the very day I received it They stated it will be fine in a few days It worked for a week or two then began to malfunction again I reported this as well Laptops and more stated they would charge me to replace the digitizer again When I looked at the original repair I noticed that the digitizer was not installed correctly Instead of using the screws that come with the repair kits they merely used some form of sticky glue My ipad was not seeded correctly and the side piece kept coming up from the first day I got it back I did tell the repair person this on the very day When I tried to get it fixed the last time they told me they no longer use screws and only use tape or glue Whatever they used my digitizer did not stay in place Regards, [redacted] ***

No guarantee is placed on any repair due to the nature of computersHowever, we will offer assistance within the days of the repair at our discretion

I have since had my IPAD repaired at another company They reported to me that the digitizer screen was defective and had been from the previous repair It was not installed correctly and a componet was damaged/fried because whoever fixed it opened the unit while it was still on This caused my device to now have a dysfunctional screen saver so I have to shut it off when not in use The repair tech informed me that there was silicon on the fried component He stated to me that some screws were missing that have been replaced He suggested I not return to Laptops and More for any further repair work The cost of my repairs was less expensive and repaired in less than two hours, not two weeks as with Laptops and More

First off would like to apologizes for any issues you had when talking to the service tech We work with customer's when they have returning issues with virus, most of the time we clean it free the second time, but also let customer know what sites they shouldn't visit as with all the problem with hacker's and virus that stem from a lot of differnet sites that most don't know about Again a virus protection does not protect 100% As for the refund we don't give the refund we try and help with the issues within a reasonable timeframe

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It is posted in the business that for virus removal there are "no guarantees." I understand that they are not promising to rid your computer of viruses, or that your computer won't get another virus once you get the computer back home from the shopHowever, when I went to pick up my computer, after dropping it off for virus removal, I was assured by the technician that there were no viruses left on the computer, that it "should be fine." I asked if they had had to wipe the computer (standard procedure if there are too many viruses to fix or viruses cannot be removed), and he said noI also requested and said I would purchase if necessary any software he recommended to prevent the occurrence happening again The viruses on my computer had come up at a very bad timeI was in the middle of a term paper deadline, and I told them that when I dropped off the computerThey said sorry they had other customers in front of me, unless I wanted to pay another large fee for expedited serviceI didn't have that much money I had to wait 3-days for my computerI ended up having to write my paper the day before it was due So, I wanted to make sure that this would not happen again.
In answer to my questions, I was told that two programs had been put on my computer that should take care of the problemI was told they were free for days and then I would have to subscribe for a small feeThinking my problems had been solved I paid the 90$ fee and took my computer homeAlmost immediately, I noticed the virus activity was still occurring on my computer, when I got it home, which was a kind of cascade effect where whenever I tried to click on something, the computer would redirect to an advertisement which seemed to come out of nowhereThe problem seems to get worse and worse until the computer freezes up This virus is, apparently, quite common, because I had had it on my computer once in the preceding year, and I went to *** *** in *** and they said it was a Trojan virus and the computer had to be wipedAfter they wiped it, I did not have the problem again until the occasion which brought me to Laptops and More.
I called the next day and was told that I could bring the computer back in , but I felt that if they couldn't fix it the first time, why would they be able to fix it the second time?
So I called a friend, who is a computer professional, and he said that I had wasted my 90$, and all I had to do was download *** is a program, free to download, which cleans viruses off the computer, and then it stays on your computer to detect and protect from further viruses in the futureI downloaded it for free, and it immediately started runningIt took about minutes to isolate over viruses on my computerThere is no way all those jumped back on to my computer immediately, after I got it home from Laptops and MoreSo, they were not accurate when they told me it "should be fine," when I picked it up After I ran ***, the virus issue stopped on my computer, and it hasn't occurred since.
I waited about a month, to see if the viruses were really under control, and, when I saw that *** seemed to be working long term, I went to Laptops and More and asked for my money backI felt they hadn't done anything to my computer, except possibly put on the computer their choice of two free anti-virus software downloads and run them, and leave them on my computerI do not even think they checked my computer before giving it back to me, because when I got the computer home, the viruses were still thereAfter I was told I could not have my money back, and the technician treated me very rudely, I called *** ***, who had previously serviced my computer, before I moved away from their location and needed to find a new service place, and I asked their opinion of the antivirus software that Laptops and More had downloaded onto my computerThey do not use the programs that Laptops and More uses and they weren't familiar with them *** *** uses a Microsoft productBut the technician there did tell me that *** is a good product, but that most shops don't use it because it takes up space on the computer which people might not want to devote to antivirus softwareThe Microsoft product takes up less spaceHe did tell me that he has personally used ***, and it is a good product.
I have a couple problems with what happened hereOne is that I told the technicians I was in a big hurry, up against a deadlineWhy didn't they tell me I could try downloading *** or some other anti virus software for free? Because they wanted to make 90$ off me, they made me wait four days and almost missed my term paper deadline for something that probably only took them minutes I think there should be some kind of integrity law against not informing people that there are free downloads available, espif they are in a bind and need their computer right away But, if I set that aside, because businesses need to make money, I still feel that the lack of service I received does warrant my money backI feel the situation goes beyond the issue of the "no guarantee" policy They simply didn't do what they said they did to my computerAnd if they did do significant work on my computer, then their services are substandard and they don't know what they are doingI literally got my computer home from the shop and it was crashing again The owner says they will work on your computer again for free, but why would I take my computer back to you if you aren't able to fix it the first time?
I understand an owner cannot look over the shoulder of the technician at all times, so I am not blaming the owner, because I doubt he was the one who worked on my computerHowever, I think he should refund my money, and he should also more carefully monitor his technicians and make sure in future that his store gives people solutions, not just lip service90$ is a lot of money, and it is up to the store to make sure people get their money's worth When I couldn't get proper service from the store, I took matters into my own hands, and I have now solved the virus issue on my computer with a simple minute downloadI do not need to bring my computer back to them for their free second round of serviceI want my money backThe company can mail me a check to *** *** *** *** ***, ***, ** ***.

The product was returned within the thirty days.  I reported to them the product repair was not working properly within the very day I received it.  They stated it will be fine in a few days.  It worked for a week or two then began to malfunction again.  I reported this as well.  Laptops and more stated they would charge me to replace the digitizer again.  When I looked at the original repair I noticed that the digitizer was not installed correctly.  Instead of using the screws that come with the repair kits they merely used some form of sticky glue.  My ipad was not seeded correctly and the side piece kept coming up from the first day I got it back.  I did tell the repair person this on the very day.   When I tried to get it fixed the last time they told me they no longer use screws and only use tape or glue.  Whatever they used my digitizer did not stay in place.
