We have nothing further to add to the complaint. We have presented our side of the situation and we have offered to clean the client's rug again. We do not guarantee removal of stains as we do not know the nature of the stain or how long it has been in the rug when it is brought to our store

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.In the response from MsMatters she stated that she told me there was no guarantee to get out stains prior to me leaving the rug with the store to be cleaned, but she did not mention that to me until after I returned to the store asking for a refund on August 5th.I wanted a clean rug, without the stains that it had when I brought the rug inAs I stated on August 5th, I am dissatisfied with the service her store providesWhen I stated my concerns to her husband over the phone, he was impolite and hung up the phone on me, which is why I drove to the store to speak with him and MsMatters in person to try to get a refund for the service providedThere seemed to be no care for the rug at all in fact, as it was placed on the sidewalk outside before being carried into the store for inspection. In addition, MsMatters' husband threatened to call the police within 3-minutes of me being in the store asking for a refundAfter his threat was made, I then asked him why he would do such a thing when I all I was asking for was a refund because I am a dissatisfied customerI also asked what the refund policy was and he and MsMatters stated that they did not have oneI offered to leave the rug with them in exchange for a refund because I thought that seemed fairMsMatters contended, but her husband said "we don't want your rug" and moments later MsMatters changed her response to that of her husband's "we don't want your rug." MsMatters' husband also stated "this is not a charity!" As well as "You will not get ONE penny! Do you understand that?!" I am requesting a refund for the washing provided as I believe the washing services of Larchmere Oriental Rugs in my experience are unsatisfactoryI do not want to have the rug washed again as I do not feel comfortable whatsoever with the owners of the store nor are the results of the services at all what I had expected or desired

We received your letter dated August 6with the enclosed complaint from [redacted] today.
I am happy to set out our side of the situation. We washed Ms [redacted]’s rug which was extremely dirty. At the time she brought it in, I explained to her that we do not guarantee removal of stains as we do not know...

When she said that her rug was not clean my husband offered to clean it for her again. She did not want us to do this as we could not promise that the stains would be removed. When she brought the rug to the store,we were surprised that she could not see how clean the rug was, as you could see this from the white wool in the rug which was actually white rather than grey when she had brought it in last month.The rug is machine made, which we do not sell in our shop and its manufacture may well include materials which break up in the washing process resulting in the “dust” Ms [redacted] said was coming from the rug when she opened it at home.
We called the because Ms [redacted] refused to leave our store. We explained that we do not refund money as we had performed the service and cleaned her rug and that we would be happy to clean it again. The police officer asked to speak to Ms [redacted] and advised her to take her claim up in the Small Claims court.
We are sorry that Ms [redacted] is unhappy with the service we provided, but we stand by our cleaning service which is unique in the Cleveland area as we wash all rugs by hand using only soap and water and have many thousands of clients who have been extremely pleased with our service.
