Largo Medical Center Hospital Reviews (4)

I went to Largo Medical Center last summer while out of townMy doctor from home said I needed to be seen and could not wait, so we wentThe very first person we spoke to was a rude nurse named AnnShe asked why I was there and then proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't be at that hospitalShe continued to be rude until I lost it and got up to leaveShe then tried to backtrack and apologize and said it was critical that I be seen right awayWe ended up staying, I was treated, saw a doctor for minutes, and was discharged This hospital participates in third party billing, does not tell you that upon arrival, and then attempts to milk you and your insurance company for every single penny they canI received an itemized bill (upon request obviously, since this hospital is not forthcoming with information)Every item on the bill was about times the average cost of services in that areaI then also received separate lab, radiology, and doctor bills not included in that astronomically high hospital bill, even though I had been charged for these services alreadyI did not receive one bill until months later! I would never recommend that anyone go to this hospital unless you are at death's door and have no choiceThey will extend your suffering long past your hospital say and simply do not care about anything but your moneyThe quality of care is lacking and the price of services is criminal

I went to the Largo Hospital ER because of intense lower back pain at had been having for days As I arrived to the ER, I was first helped by a security guard, a nurse from England (I didn't catch her name), and Dr SAll three treated me very well When I was ready to be discharged a new nurse came with the paperworkI believe her name was nurse LuelaI told her that I had back pain and that I had been trying to get up from the bed for several minutes without success She immediately lifted the back rest of my bed and I screamed in pain! I told not do that again and asked her to lower the bed slowly to a flat position so I could roll over on my sideI asked her if she could help me and she said I would have to get up on my ownI asked her if someone else could help me and she said there was no one that could help meI asked her if she could bring a table or something firm next to the bed so that I could push my self up and she said she could not give me anythingI then remembered that I had brought a cane with me to the hospitalI asked her if she could give me the cane and she didI finally was able to get up with the help of my cane after several minutes and a lot of painful effort completely on my ownAs I walked down the hall to the exit door, she followed me about feet behind me never offering any help To me this is the most unfriendly, unhelpful nurse I have ever encountered

I went to Largo Medical Center last summer while out of town. My doctor from home said I needed to be seen and could not wait, so we went. This hospital participates in third party billing, does not tell you that upon arrival, and then attempts to milk you and your insurance company for every single penny they can. I received an itemized bill (upon request obviously, since this hospital is not forthcoming with information). Every item on the bill was about 5 times the average cost of services in that area. I then also received separate lab, radiology, and doctor bills not included in that astronomically high hospital bill, even though I had been charged for these services already. I did not receive one bill until 10 months later! I would never recommend that anyone go to this hospital unless you are at death's door and have no choice. They will extend your suffering long past your hospital say and simply do not care about anything but your money. The quality of care is lacking and the price of services is criminal.

I went to the Largo Hospital ER because of intense lower back pain at had been having for 3 days.

As I arrived to the ER, I was first helped by a security guard, a nurse from England (I didn't catch her name), and Dr S. All three treated me very well.

When I was ready to be discharged a new nurse came with the paperwork. I believe her name was nurse Luela. I told her that I had back pain and that I had been trying to get up from the bed for several minutes without success.
She immediately lifted the back rest of my bed and I screamed in pain! I told not do that again and asked her to lower the bed slowly to a flat position so I could roll over on my side. I asked her if she could help me and she said I would have to get up on my own. I asked her if someone else could help me and she said there was no one that could help me. I asked her if she could bring a table or something firm next to the bed so that I could push my self up and she said she could not give me anything. I then remembered that I had brought a cane with me to the hospital. I asked her if she could give me the cane and she did. I finally was able to get up with the help of my cane after several minutes and a lot of painful effort completely on my own. As I walked down the hall to the exit door, she followed me about 30 feet behind me never offering any help.

To me this is the most unfriendly, unhelpful nurse I have ever encountered.
