Martial arts classes
The instructor was very over weight and about 50 years old. He never stretched with the children before moving. In fact there was no moving as the instructor never demonstrated how to on physical movement. The studio has no AC and these are summer months ! The movements every time my kids went were the same movements of dragging themselves on the floor and crawling on the form in unusual and risky positions. I spoke to the head instructor who told me he really doesn't teach anymore. That's not something he said when I signed my boys up. Also one of my boys sustained a sore shin and sore foot and ankle from dragging on the floor. He could not walk for 4 days. Maybe 30 years ago he instructed but he's 60 now not teaching the children and telling mothers that their children are lazy and unmotivated

Hello, I am a current student at Larios Karate Club. Might I just say that the majority of the things in this person’s review are completely false. I’ve been a student for 5 years now and I love going. The AC is not broken nor has it ever been, and its a normal thing for exercises to consist of the same workouts and movements for hand and eye coordination/endurance. Yes there is some “risky” positions and forms we do but thats in every sport! For example, you can’t sign your kid up for football and not expect them to get tackled! Same for karate, you can’t sign your kid up and expect everything to be easy, its a contact sport for goodness sake! (What were you expecting?) As for the head instructor not teaching anymore, he does. He teaches the advanced class for the students at a higher level, and has his assistant(a very cable black belt) teach the beginners class. Also these “dragging”exercises are to build strength in your arms they’re nothing to difficult or dangerous. As for your son not being able to walk for 4 days that might be him exaggerating the muscle soreness from the workouts we do. I love going to karate sorry you didn’t have the same experience but that not an excuse to spread lies about Larios karate Club.

We signed up our kid for Larios Karate class and expected a fair class and treatment. Paid upfront for 3 months and saw that kids classes are not by age group. A 12 year old was taking a class with a 4 yr old and were expected to do the same things which was not fair. When seen this we thought that it is not going to work out for our kid and asked for at least a partial refund and got refused. This is not the way businesses should act. Full refund may not be issued I understand but you need to offer at least a partial refund if things does not work out.

I had a disappointing experience. The larios guy basically sold me a service I never received. On top of him repeatedly telling me I'm a bad mother for not wanting to bring my boys anymore because one of my boys sustained an injury due to the instructor not showing anything to the children
