Larry Bissette, Inc. Reviews (1)

In 2003 we bought our home from Creech Homes. Larry Bissette was the roofer for the house. When it rains hard from the S.W. water enters the house. We are the first owners of the property since its construction. Soon after taking possession we complained that the house leaked water when heavy rains came from the southwest. The rains that precipitated the leak were intermittent and happened only one to three times a year. We called the roofing contractor to investigate and repair the problem. His crew would come and attempt a repair. There were several calls over the years. They were fee based. And after each repair visit, we relied on representations that the problem had been fixed. However, after each attempt at repair, the leak would recur when the next hard rain came to town. Sometimes this could be as much as a year since the last event. As I said earlier, these rain events were irregular, After more than 9 years, the leaking still occurs when it rains hard from the southwest. In 2013, after his last visit, the roofer suggested that we had bad brick. Consequently, we contacted a building inspector. He advised us that the leak was the result of defective and/or faulty flashing installation. We informed Creech Homes, the general contractor of these facts. [redacted] Creech said that he couldn't warrant a house more that ten years old and recommended a couple of roofing companies he thought might be able to help us fix the problem. The builder has yet to acknowledge any responsibility. About a month ago Mr. Bissette agreed to meet with us and help determine the reason for the leak. However, two days before our scheduled meeting, Mr. Bissette advised me that Mr. Creech told him I said disparaging things about the Bissette Roofing Company. Mr. Bissette consequently rescinded his offer to help us. Desired SettlementAt the very minimum, we want the leaking stopped and all incidental damages repaired and certified by our building inspector. We are not seeking to recover our related costs at this time. Business Response /[redacted]/In response to the complaint from Mr. [redacted], Larry Bissette Sr received a phone call from Mr [redacted]. Mr [redacted] stated who he was and that we had roofed his house and he had a reoccuring leak and he thought it was a flashing issue. [redacted] asked who the builder was and he said Creech Contruction built his home. We looked in our records and we orginally roofed this house in 7/16/2001. [redacted] told him that this repair was out of our warranty but would be glad to look at it for him for a small fee. He appeared to not like having to pay for the repair. [redacted] told him that he was a fair person but could not warranty a house that old (The statue of limitations in the State of NC is 6 years on workmanship). Mr [redacted] agreed to have us look at this for the small fee but he still did not seem to like having to pay this fee. [redacted] Sr said he would send a truck by to look at the repair. After [redacted] spoke with Mr [redacted] he then called [redacted] Creech the builder and [redacted] told [redacted] that as far as he remebered that Mr. [redacted] never had a issue with the work Larry Bissette Inc had preformed on his home. (Mr [redacted] called [redacted] Creech about a leak but it was from his ice maker). [redacted] Creech also told [redacted] that Mr [redacted] was selling his Home. [redacted] Creech told Mr [redacted] that he was out of his warranty also but would give him some contacts for the roof repair he was asking for. Mr [redacted] told [redacted] Creech that for whatever reason "HE DID NOT CARE FOR LARRY BISSETTE INC" so [redacted] Creech gave Mr [redacted] some other roofing company contacts. So under the circumstances (because of his comment and our current schedule), [redacted] left Mr [redacted] a message letting him know we would not be going to his Home to look at his roof issue. As every Business does, we feel like we retain the right to whom we work for. We have been a member of the Revdex.com for over 15 years with no complaints. We feel that the complaint by Mr [redacted] in not true and more to get back at Larry Bissette Inc because we made the decision not to do the work for him.
