Your letter dated September 27th received and I am at a loss as to how to respondHow do you prove a negative?I do not have Mr*** * * forendWe returned it on his gun when we shipped the gun.I have given a lot of thought as to why Mr*** is pursuing this charge and the only thing I can come up with is revengeWhen I initially inspected Mr *** gun , I told him it would be worth about $20,when all the repairs I suggested were completed However , when attempting to rebrown the barrels I discovered the barrels had been previously leaded and this unfortunately changed the ultimate value ofof this gun .I made suggestions to Mr*** that would have made the gun usable and retain much of its value however , he would not accept any suggestions.He requested that I lead the barrels so they would look the same inside as they had when he sent them in I told him I definitely would not do this as it was deceitful and would be unsafe for someone who might shoot this gun in the future.He would not accept my decision .I have done everything I could to appease Mr *** short of camouflaging a dangerous set of barrels I can only imagine this is his reason for trying to disparage our family business which has never had a complaint like this in the sixty one years of business.Yours truly,Larry ***

Their response does not refer to my complaint which was my gun was shipped back to me with a forend wood that was not on the gun when they recieved it from me, nor is it the correct size for my gun. I want my forend wood back and I will gladly ship him the one he sent with my gun. I am asking nothing for the SCAP barrel I now have. I have pictures of the forend that was on the gun when it was shipped to them which shows the crack that I made mention to in the original letter I sent them with my gun. They included a copy of that letter with his response. I was told they didn't have a email account that I could forward the pictures to. I have included pictures with this response, the first two pictures are of the gun before it was shipped to them which clearly shows the crack in the wood and the last three are of the forend that was shipped back to me which you can clearly see is not same. Once again I am only asking for MY forend wood back.

Mr. [redacted] continues to talk about the barrels when all I want is the forend wood that was on the gun when he recieved it from me. But since he wants to talk about the barrels I will also. Mr. [redacted]'s barrel options he mentions was 1) spend $3600.00 to have [redacted] rebuild with new sleeves. 2) try and find a used barrel in better condition that he could recondition and he could even change the serial # on them to match my gun. Why would anyone want to change the serial# on a part if not to deceive someone into thinking it is original to that gun. When this was suggested by Mr. [redacted] I started to understand what kind of person I had sent my gun to. When the gun was returned to me with the wrong forend and he deniied any wrong during, he only confirmed what kind of person I was dealing with. The 3rd option was to have Briley slip tubes installed which I will have done after I get a forend that fits the gun.    Mr. [redacted] told me to check the serial # on the wood which I did and it did not match the gun. I sent pictures of the forend he sent with the gun which shows it being the wrong size. I sent pictures that were taken the day before I shipped the gun to him that shows the original. I made mention of the crack on the forend with my original letter that was with the gun when he recieved it.  The forend that was returned with the gun had no crack, was much darker in color and not the correct size. All this and he still says he did no wrong.    Mr. [redacted] seems to be implying I am the guilty party and he is the victim, when the truth is the only thing I am guilty of is shipping a family heirloom that my father trusted me with to Larry [redacted] and Son.I do not accept the business response but do not know what else I can do.
