Hi Ms***: I have additional information for my claim since it was filedNo permit was obtained by Haight, even though they are required in Redmond where the work was done, and my contract states Haight will obtain all required permitsThe permit would have required an inspection to verify the quality and amount of structural work doneThe amount of the structural work was the basis of complaint when I filed itNow, I am withholding final payment until I get a signed off inspection report from Redmond I purchased a Redmond Re-roofing permit today, and will schedule the inspection as soon as it can be doneI sent a partial payment Wednesday withholding less than 10% Today, I stopped payment on that check in order to be assured that any findings by Redmond's inspection are resolved by Haight before they receive final payment I am depending on the inspection report to settle any difference between me and Haight regarding the amount of structural preparation work performedHaight initially said they would file for a lien, but has since said they would notI'd like Haight to hold off any lien filings, and I will commit to paying a full and final bill that is consistent with the final inspection report by Redmond Thanks, *** ***

I'm responding to the complaint from our customer, Mr*** ***We were contracted by Mr*** to replace the existing roofing materials with new composition roofing shingles. The existing roof sheathing is plywood and our contract states we will replace any damaged plywood
or plywood that have holes in them due to old roofing vents at a pre determined rateDuring the roof removal phase, we ended up replacing sheets of plywoodAt the time of replacing this plywood, we informed Mr*** of the number of sheets we replaced and had him sign our change order form with a dollar amountThe roof was completed on time.After receiving the final invoice from our company, Mr*** emailed us (3/24/17) asking for a "simple description" of where the plywood was replacedWe responded to his email answering his questions, explaining where we replaced the damaged plywood and sent picturesAt this point, Mr*** wanted more pictures and proof of the replaced plywoodWe assured Mr*** the plywood was replaced and sent additional picturesWe don't take pictures of every sheet of plywood replaced and we informed Mr*** if he wanted a picture of every sheet of plywood replaced then he should have asked us to take these pictures at the beginning of the projectMr*** has continued to accuse us of not installing the amount of plywood we said we installed and will not pay his billWe have offered on several occasions to go back out and count the plywood for himMr*** has refusedWe have explained if there was an error then adjustments would be made

Hi *** The building inspector for Redmond was at the house today He said he will issue a report with findings that will include "corrections" I'll share the report with you when I get it Probably in a day or so I don't know exactly what's going to be listed, but I understand there will be work required by Haight in order to get a final passed inspection signed off and delivered to me I need to know what Haight's intentions are regarding finishing the job Are you willing to perform the work required by the report? I also want to get to a final answer as to the sheathing count I think we can do that between us The inspector said that isn't his role Maybe we can hire a 3rd party, like a house inspector.If you are interested, let's meet at the house to discuss once the report is in and we've both had time to look at it I propose that we write an addendum, maybe a change order, that includes all agreed to outstanding line items That way we will know what needs to be done, who is responsible, and what the final acceptance criteria are We can also talk about me making another payment at that time Maybe some portion up to the contested amount I want the roof done, and I want you guys paid, and for us all to walk away feeling like we got a fair deal.I know your timer is valuable, as is mine So I don't want to drag this out Let me know what you want to do I'll consider any reasonable suggestions by you as well.***

I spoke with inspector and he would like to see two sections of the installed plywood and proof of air flow in the vaulted sectionThe report did not state any corrections to our workmanship were required.I have already reached out to the homeowner and a meeting has been setI'm currently waiting to hear back from the inspector to set a time as wellWe have several pictures showing the nailing pattern of the installed plywood and the required gap needed for ventilation
